Just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks at Kaloudis Village. Had a great time. Already looking at returning next year (think i have the bug now like everyone else!) We are looking at the Mathraki next year and can anyone tell me what it is like please? How long does it take to walk to the beach from there.
Really wish i was back there now.
Got serious withdrawal symptons!!!!

Ness44, Mathraki is lovely, there are lots of posts on the forum about it.
It's very quite because no childeren allowed to stay there, the family are wonderful, the food great, as my waistline will verify!

There are only 16 rooms all with sea view and fantastic sunsets, very clean with usual facilities, rooms are quite big and the kitchen is very well equipped.
Four or five mins from the centre and sea front.

The best things about Mathraki is the family I think. They are very welcoming but never overwhelming, they just look after all their guests equally welll.
We are booking to go again next year, just as we have for the last few years.

I agree with everything Val said Ness44. We love it there we are going back 27th August for our second visit this year and have already booked for July next year. The family are wonderful.

Agree completely with previous posts. In fact you can get to the beach down the back way, past Efi's, and my guess its about the same distance as the trek from the rear apartments at Kaloudis, down that steep slope which leads past SpishSplash pool. There's not a lot in it, anyway. Or you can come down the other way and be at Brouklis much more quickly!

Really enjoyed the Mathraki we stayed at Kaloudis last year but as much as we like children we like a child free holiday we stayed in June and are returning in September.

We have stayed at the Mathraki a couple of times and absolutely loved it. Only reason we don't go now is because we have a little girl so need somewhere for families. Still pop up for some lunch as the food is excellent. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Was the room you had on the ground floor ok? I love a sea view but dont mind ground floor if we have something to look at.

The family live on the ground floor we were on the next floor it was lovely we looked onto olive trees and flowers it was lovely we could see the village and just see the sea from the room.As it was June we would walk down to see the sunset in the evening before going to eat but last year we were at the Kaloudas in September and the evening we could see the sunset from balcony before we went out, as it sets earlier, so when we go in September we would like to do the same again. Whatever room we have I know we will enjoy our time there it was really friendly and one of the nicest places we have stayed. Jenny

Ness44, do I remember you saying that you have teenage children?
If so they will not be able to stay at Mathraki as it's adults only, ie 18 and over.  Do hope they are older.
