Your typical holiday insurance supplied by a reputable insurer will treat swine flu like any illness. If you book the insurance before you travel or contract swine flu you will in most cases be covered. If you say book your insurance a month in advance you are okay as the virus has an incubation period of no more than ten days and then its clear you are not well. If you or a member of your family is stopped from travelling you should also be all okay. If the holiday can't be rearranged you will be covered. You would need and the airline would have to supply you from their authorised medical adviser certificate saying you can't fly. If it's before you get to the airport, then a doctors or employers cert in most cases is adequate for most insurance. Basically the body that speaks for the British insurers say don't panic.
