The sunsets can be so beautiful. Many folks will never see such sights, to their loss. But regular visitors to Arillas get used to it. It is only the spectacular, really special ones that might get a comment, and then they will be forgotten. It's a strange truth that when surrounded by beauty every day, one tends to ignore it. Strange lot us humans. We strive for things, but once we have it we couldn't care less.

Well I care more. I am lucky man who can share the sunset in Arillas with a woman I love, and all of them, spectacular or not, move us both. It is one more reason we are besotted with the place. Thanks for the pic AJC. "Try to remember the kind of September....."

The sunsets over Arillas are truly amazing. I have a friend who lives in New Zealand and I e-mailed her some of my Arillas sunset photographs, and she thought they looked too perfect to be real. I assured her that they are real and that they look even more beautiful and perfect in real life

Mary, you are so right. NOTHING can convey the true beauty of an Arillas Sunset. Even the best photo can only show you one fleeting moment of that evenings sunset, you have to BE THERE to see the whole thing unfold, feel the serenity that it imparts, and to see the varying shades of beauty as the sun, clouds (or lack of) and the land, all interact with each other to make yet another spectacular Arillas Sunset, and to leave you feeling at peace with the world.

Never seen the milky May sunsets for real (yet...) Thanks for posting the pics in all their contrasting glory, John.

We'll both see more of the July versions in 2012...

I love the sunsets in May, but when we come back in July/August the skies are so clear then that the sunsets are spectacular.
We have yet to experience an Arillas October one yet, but have seen lots in other Greek islands. Although wonderful I find they pass to quickly, it's as though someone turns the lights off suddenly.

Nice pics John - specially like the October one. But yes, Val, I agree with you over the October sunsets, they go so quickly. You have to be pretty quck with your camera to catch the right moment, which is why I appreciate Johns October one.
Keep posting guys - wonder if we can get a sunset for every month?

I think we are all priviliged to have witnessed so many wonderful sunsets and captured them `on film`.
We all have our favourites but every pic tells a story.  The shots here remind us of what we`re missing whilst we`re in the UK.
Is it me, or does the place take on a mythical enchantment at sunset?
 Great pics, keep posting.
