Arillas welcomed us again this year as it always has,
With warmth and affection,
THANK YOU ARILLAS
See you again next summer

The best part for me, this year, was my son and family going to Arillas and loving it as much as Helen and myself. It sort of gives reassurance that your addiction to a place isn't just a whim, its something that is felt by almost everyone that visits Arillas.

The worst part was to see less people in Arillas, which means less income for the village. This, together with Greeks economic problems, creates a bit of concern about the survival of some businesses. The people of Arillas are the main reason we love the place so much. There are many places in the world with nice beaches, nice food, and everything else that Arillas has but these other places don't have the Arillas people. They are the catalyst that makes a nice resort a special resort and I hope everyone on the forum can do everything possible to get more people to have their holidays in Arillas in 2012.

I probably haven't explained this very well, but when a place has given so much pleasure to so many people, we need to give Arillas as much support as possible through the difficult times that Greece is experiencing. So lets feel that its not the end of 2011, but the beginning of 2012, and let's all make a bigger effort than ever to promote Arillas as the best holiday destination ever.

Oh, there was another highlight of 2011, and that was meeting Nina and her mum Theresa at the Horizon. More of this and other reports through the winter months.

Arillas was a pain in the backside for me this year as we didn't go. We went instead to a lovely villa in nissaki, gorgeous place, great food, friendly tavernas, but it wasn't arillas and I kept on thinking "nice but not arillas" all the time.
Next year we've booked a villa just over the hillside near the church in san stef, but Nic and I will walk over the hill for a nice meal and carafe or three I'm sure.
Nic had been suggesting a second holiday in september in arillas, but I'm being TUPE'd next week and when I met my new boss the other day, she told me the whole NHS trust is being offered mutually agreed resignation and redundancies will come if they don't lose enough staff through that route. So the second holiday may not happen.
