Right now the w e b c a m suggests the beach is small. Most of recent posts say it's big. Jen and me could fit in 1 metre squared, and it won't affect us if it's non existent. But I reckon this is another 2008, when the winds will make Arillas beach as special as it ever was. In any case we will both love it.

I really hope so Phil.  I just love the new position which gives me glimpses of my 'personal' beach! ;-)

Our first visit was 2008, guess we were spoilt with the size of the beach, you could walk north to south without getting your toes wet.

Love the beach whatever shape or size, just close my eyes and imagine I am there, August seems so far away x

The beach was much bigger this year than last - and very clean and tidy. However, there was a huge storm last Monday night/Tuesday morning and it was all washed away. But I am confident that now the weather has improved again, it will soon increase again. I didn't go down to the beach at all but looking down from Nikos' bar, the north beach was looking good.....

Thanks Sandy luvver. Such is the beach in Arillas. I love it like yous do, but we have both seen it from enormous to non-existent. What amazes me is that you didn't spend hours on it last week! But then Arillas is much more than just the beautiful beach, and Akrotiri is almost in heaven up there on the top of the hill. Jen has applied for new legs, but is still waiting. Whatever, we will get up to see Nikos somehow.

Thanks for posting this.

Yes Sandy, I am most surprised that you were not at the beach even once!! is it because you didn't want to leave your dad?

coming to Arillas next monday 16th of may for the 1st time, we have been many places in Greece but never to Corfu. We have heard so much about Arillas and the beach, cannot wait to get there. Hope its as good as everyone says it is

bicky, the beach is always a special part of Arillas. Sometimes the wind changes it dramatically. But it is a mile long, and varies from narrow to wide. It can even disappear, only to return again after a storm.

Dimitris (Brouklis, our webmaster) has explained it so well. Try this link http://www.arillas.com/forum/index.php/topic,4186.0.html

Arillas is what you make of it. Jen and I have made a lot of it, and it has changed our lives, along with many you read on here. The people are charming and genuine, and the food should be banned. My 30inch waist is now 36.

Thanks Phil,me and Sue are putting on the pounds just thinking of the food and lazing on the beach.

Welcome Bicky, the good is fabulous and I would recommend packing two sizes of shorts, you always need the bigger ones towards the end of your stay!  I've put a stone on in 2 weeks before!  I'm going to try and do a bit more walking in July but we'll see!

A lot more walking Cheryl?

Would that be from the Pool to the Bar from the Bar to the Dinner table.

Cheryl2307

Now, now, John!  I might walk all round the pool before I get in!  See you in July x

Anyone know what the beach is like at the moment? We are going on 3 June, staying at Portofino can't wait to be 'home' :-)

Look at the w e b c a m lawty. Today it looks superb. Like Dimitris said, it changes with the wind. If you need acres of sandy space go to San Stefanos or Agios Gorgeous. Or if you need just a few square metres of sand and gorgeous food, welcome and well-being, come to Arillas. No-brainer in my case.
