Oooh! Courgette Keftedes - thanks for the pointer Janis, will definitely try them.  Lesvos is a fantastic place for all kinds of keftedes, chickpea balls and stuffed courgette flowers etc, will be good to compare notes!

Hi Nic & John, we chose the Tria Adelphi from reading reviews on Holidays Uncovered and Trip Adviser - it appealed right from the start.  Staying somewhere offering food will be new for us, though a big part of our holiday is deciding where to eat each night, its nice to have the option not to move if we don't want to.

Alan & Jan - its funny but we've been to Plakias twice and really enjoyed the food - perhaps in comparison to some of the places we've been though Plakias does come out quite well.  We have been to some places where the veggie options were particularly poor.  Sometimes there's a limit to how much Greek Salad you can eat!  You do know that you're setting the bar pretty high for Arillas?

We arrive on Monday 23/5/11, just for a week sadly as we like a fortnight in September, look forward to seeing some of you there for a beer or several!

Thanks again for all your lovely replies.

luvver the bar is very high indeed. But Arillas will deliver if you go for it. As long as you're honest with whomever serves you. I asked for very garlicy prawns at Efi's (next to Marinaki and Portofino) and was presented with a magnificent plate of 10 large prawns with a whole clove of garlic grilled amongst them. Absolutely delicious.

The keftedes are great, or try the local briam or, or, or... food is a big part of Arillas. And my waist is proof of that. Some say it is beer - the jury's out)
