A great way to spend time, is to visit a village such as Peroulades, and just walk about the narrow streets. Soak up the atmosphere, look at the buildings and say "kalimera" to all the local people you go passed when they are sitting outside their houses. The smile you get in return is  priceless  and you feel the real spirit of Corfu.

There is a film called Alternate Routes, Corfu at the following web address .....

http://www.babelgum.com/html/clip.php?clipId=490

The film is about some youngsters backpacking in Corfu, but there is an interesting part where they visit Old Perithia and Kaiser's Chair. Its worth watching just for those parts of the film. The film is about 25 minutes long and you need to download a Bablegum player to get the best quality.

Its worth a look plus there are other interesting films available

Hi Nan
The link you posted about Gerald Durrell and his Corfu connections is brilliant I'm going to have a good read of it. Corfu is truly an all round beautifull island.

Take Care
Mary

Nan n all
It's Jean Walsh and we shall be going to her exhibition next weekend.
The camera will be with me and hopefully some pics taken,
I'll mention to her about a website. You'd be suprised, when veiwing her portfolio, just how many local paintings/signs you recognise.

So enjoyed the boat ride Terry. Including the visit to Vavilas and Thomas! Thanks for finding it and posting.

Altogether this thread just shows how many talents, attractions and beautiful places there are in NW Corfu.

Thanks for the boat video link, Terry. Like you, will now have to hire a boat this summer.

Great videos! Enjoyed them all, can't wait to get back there or real!
Nice shots of Thomas and his family. That food looks sooo good. How long ago was that taken? Spirarula looks quite young in that clip.
Yammas,
Martin.

Here's a little clip from last year when we hired a boat.
Not great quality as I took it on my little digital camera.
In almost the same place as that other video on the boat.
Porto Timoni which Theresa call's it "Porto Torino" !
She'd give Hilda Baker a run for her money !
Hope I don't burn !
