How to get there?
« on: June 30, 2008, 10:39:47 AM »
Hi
I've booked independently and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to the easiest way to get from the airport. I was intending to hail a cab at the airport but I'm not sure if this would be the cheapest or wisest way to do it. Any suggestions?

Hi MickG,

You could ask the owners of your accom' to book a taxi for you.

Or, you could phone the local taxi office direct yourself to pre-book.

The very reliable lads are Stamatis, Dimitris and Spiros, they all speak good English.

Contact them on.... 00306972 767803

It should cost between 45-50 euros...cheaper than if you hail a taxi at the airport.

Happy holidays!

Eileen.

Hi

Last year we booked a taxi through our hotel who forgot to send it!!

We got a taxi at the airport, and although he said he knew where Arillas was we got lost, not good late at night.

This year we are going to book the one off this web site. This also seems cheaper than picking the taxi up at the airport.

Hope this helps, enjoy Arillas

Mick G

If you have a hire car planned for the duration of your stay then contact the local Arillas guys for a price. Ask for pick up and take back to the Airport.

Arillas Car hire and Olgas Travel do this, plus you always have Arkokal and Arillas Travel in case they are booked. Take about 100 euros of their prices, as this is what you would have paid for an each way Taxi and I think it will work out cheaper.

Cheers
Negg

I booked on the website with Noula outgoing. I then went to Arkokal and confirmed return flight time and booked return taxi through them. Cost 50 euros each way and no extra for Arkokal's excellent service.
About 40 minutes trip, depending on the city traffic. Walked straight in to the airport, asked which desk and joined its queue; none of that package tour panic queueing outside in the hot sun! (Mind you, we could do with some of that here now!)
Independent is best, if you can manage the extra cost.

There are several places where you can pre-book a taxi.  This year we used Arkokal who quoted a good price (before all the fuel price rises and they still honoured it) and they were at the airport as promised with our names on a board.
You can, of course, get a taxi at the airport but in our case we always feel more relaxed to know that it has been pre-booked at an agreed price.
