I would love to see the interactive map in a chronological order showing how Arillas has developed over the last 30 to 40 years.

For example maps showing hotels and restaurants that were in existence in 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000 and 2005.

Because I am a newcomer to Arillas it would be nice to see how Arillas has developed and the map would be a good way to show it.

How about it Dimitris? It would stop you from being bored between nappy changes.

I,m very interesting in something like that but I have to say it is not very easy,
The best way to create something like this, is to develop a software that users from our website can interact by adding their own content ( for example wile they are @work).
If anyone has anything in mind I would be happy to implement it on our website.

Happy New Year to everyone again and again !!!

Today is becoming a very good day. First the Arillas song driving to work and now another brilliant map is available on the forum.

Have a look at the "Arillas Googlemap" either from the menu or here ....

I think that the amount of work that Dimitris is doing to enhance the forum is fantastic. He has combined his aerial photographs with Google map software and has come up with a map that is just amazing.

Try the zoom function ( the + symbol ) when you view the map and see how you can see more detail and pan around the map. I doubt if there is any other holiday forum, anywhere on the internet that has interactive maps to this standard, and I would not be surprised to see holiday companies doing similar things on their web sites.

Efkharisto Dimitris, its brilliant.

Brilliant! I can zoom in on all I want to see. (unfortunately not close enough tho.)lol.

I think the new interactive map is a very useful asset for new visitors to Arillas. I am a newcomer and I can see how useful the map could be, to give prospective visitors an indication of locations of hotels, restaurants, shops and the beach etc. It could also be used to show  routes to various places. I have created a "demo" video that hopefully shows the route from Kaloudis Village to Brouklis. I have had to use the "hand" cursor to show the route.

It needs a lot of work yet, but sound could be added ( ie directions) and text instructions.

Just click on link below to view.

Very well done Terry.
Can you do the route with a large Mythos that hand without spilling any. lol

TerryW

Yes its Helen, both photos were taken in Brouklis.

If anyone else want to do it, just download a free or trial version of a gif editor like the one at http://www.gif-animator.com/, add two photos ( they have to be small in size ) and save. Then upload for profile as usual.

It really is easy, come on do it, so we can all flash on the forum.

TerryW

I might try that riggers. Also a return route via some hedges, I think Lindypops could help me with that one.
