what to do when arriving at night ? my wife and i are staying at the bardis sun hotel and arrive at about one in the morning, what do we do ?

Cheryl2307

Do you land at 1 or get to the Bardis at 1?  If it's the latter, wander down to the beach front, pass the Mirage, supermarket then turn right and go straight to the Coconut or Malibu bar for a large Mythos!!  If you are hungry, I think the gyros place will still be open and that's just next to the Malibu!  Or the bar at the Bardis may still be open for a drink there.  Have fun!

Hi H-Clarke

We have stayed at the Bardis Sun Hotel a couple of times arriving at about 23.45.  Either Dorita or Aris will be there to meet you and take you up to your room.

As mentioned by Cheryl  we always do a bit of unpacking and head down to the Coconut bar for a couple.  The Bardis Sun Studios bar which is next door to the hotel shuts at 1am.

Have a wonderful time.

As has been said, someone will be there to meet you, worry not.

No matter where i go or what time i land somewhere i always go for a quick stroll, just something ive always done.

If you get there before 1am the bar next door will be open or one of the bars in the town will be open for a quick drink.

Loving the new piccie Cheryl!!

We are travelling from Norwich and are due to land at 21.45 on Tue 18th Sept.
Can anyone give me an idea of how long it takes to clear the airport and get to Arillas?
Staying at the Kaloudis and quite fancy a small libation when we arrive, to start the holiday.
Will anywhere near be open?

I would say that, if you land on time, allow 1 hour to clear the Airport.
If your transport is bringing youand no-one else, direct to Arillas then allow another hour.
Add on a bit of time for getting off the plane, waiting for suitcases to be offloaded from the plane and expect to be in Arillas by midnight at the earliest.
This is dependant on whether you are on a coach which drops other holiday makers off first. Being first to get your cases is not a bonus if another couple, on the same coach, are the last to get theirs. And if this other couple are staying at Sidari??
Coconut and Malibu are open past midnight and I think it's possible to get some food at the snack bar nearby.
Next morning though - Up bright and early on that 'ole beach!!!!

Thanks, advice noted. We will probably be quite hungry as I refuse to pay £12 each for the food(?) they provide on the plane. Even if Thomson claim it is by Aldo Zilli.

Hi All

Sorry to hi-jack this thread, didn't want to start a new one - forgive me. However, what is the transfer time from the airport to the resport? Some sites tell me 30 mins and others 1 hour 30 mins!! Anyone know the true time??

Cheers in advance

Have a good holiday/honeymoon everyone

More info needed Jo.
For a start if I could get to Corfu Airport from Arillas in 30 minutes I would be a very lucky man. Which tour operator have you booked with? Name the tour operator and you will get some very reliable transfer times from Forum members in the know.
Be warned though, if your operator is dropping people off at Rhoda and Sidari before Arillas then 2 1/2 hours could be a good estimate.
Cheers

Thanks Negg

Big gulp!! 2 1/2 hours wow!!! We're with Thompson and have no idea where or who is being dropped off before us! Big fingers crossed we're not last!

I think Thomsons have been given some good Forum reports about transfers so are one of the better ones.

As with Brian, if everything runs in your favour, quick suitcases etc. not too many "drop-offs" you could in in Arillas in 1 hour 45 mins.
(We managed 1hr 20 once, first to get cases and straight in a hire car.)

It could be an interesting report as a topic if you both "stopwatch & itemise" it from the point the plane touches down.
( and would be a good guide for other travellers )
