Thanks for the update on the football pitch Negg
We had a walk up there when we were over last July
The fencing was not in place then and the dugouts have been put in

Would love to get out into the middle and do a full 90 minutes
like It says below my ticker
If I’m not on the football pitch I must be in Arillas

As for places to visit, yes it is well worth a trip up there.
We made a good day of it walking from the Christos up to the little white walled cemetery and then turning left, following the road to the end, then turning right and continuing till we arrived at the football pitch, lots to see on the way.
We came back the same way but continued into San Steff, taking lunch at one of the Tavernas on the beach.
A little time on the sands and a dip before returning via the cliffs

A gorgeous "Arillas Today" folks!

It must be around 20 deg in the shade and it's been a long time since I've seen so many people on the sea front.

Brouklis looking good with it's new bamboo replacement jobbie and all systems go at Armourada who are spring cleaning, in between looking after us customers who just have to sit outside with an ale or two. I socialised with 4 of the Armourada darts teams today so don't tell my lot!

Activity at Coconut and Malibu but I don't think Helens Creperie is open yet.
( Very soon though)

Mirage and Horizon both looking as good as ever and a new wall being built around the Marina pool. Spiros @ Portofino looks to be making his final personal touches to ensure his guests are comfortable.

So much going on and muggins here forgot the camera.
( Could have snipped a pic at Dimitris on his 20 cc moped going towards the beach )
Nice hat you're wearing "Brouklis" - 20cc moped? - Have you got to the beach yet?

And..The beach is recovering very well from all the recent bad weather.
( Although that bad weather now seems such a long time ago )
A very calm sea today. - Maybe still to cold for a swim.

Finally , I hear rumours that the "build" happening between Marinaki and Eftihia will be a private dwelling. - If that's true then "WOW" wottaplaceatoowna.

Eileen is here on Saturday so I'm sure she'll have a lot to say in a weeks time and haven't bumped into BBB yet but may soon.

Jean Walsh busy painting away today. She's doing one for us donchyerknow.
( A veiw of Kavadaddes from our balcony )
Take the time to pay her a visit when you're over.

I'm sure I've forgot something/somebody - Usually do! - Apologies-So much going on!

Ah! - Rainbow having a new exterior wall built. All these cosmetic touches you probably won't notice but it just gives us all of an insight of the "invisible jobs" that happen prior to the Summer season.
-- - No one in Corfu sits on their butt in the Winter!
( Not even me, unfortunately )

Cheers All
Negg

Thanks for a good, detailed report Negg.

But hey Muggins, don't forget the camera next time, we need some photos. Desperation is setting in. :-)

As the season is about to start, I hope fellow members don't forget to take Jelly Babies etc for our intrepid reporter. Its the least we can do in appreciation of these wonderful posts.

Is anything else required Negg in addition to HP sauce, cheddar cheese, picled onions, and a beginners guide to darts book?

Thanks for the report eggy, really wets our appetites! Out of interest, have you any idea what will become of Kostas on the beach following the devastating loss of Kosta? Are there plans to keep it in the family and re-open or is this unlikely?

Spiro from Portpfino will be getting everything in order as his daughter Vicky is having her little ones christening on the 20th April.  Coming over from New York so Spiro will get to see his new grand daughter for the first time, would love to see his face

Ah Terry , maybe a book on how to handle a vehicle that skids on Oil , of the Olive type!.

A word of caution to anyone hiring a car this summer.
Treat all Corfu roads with twice the respect that they deserve.

This is what happened to me yesterday!
.

.

''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
And , before you ask,.... This was at 6pm , daylight , and I was on my way to Three W's for just one hour and one Iced coffee. - Then home by 7 for tea , that was the plan!
Alcohol intake, at that point was 2 Mythos around 1:30 pm. Speed around 35 kph
( always careful around this area especially )
Coming down the Magoulades road on the way to Agious Stephanos the car skidded on what looked like a mixture of oil & water and took me very close to the "drop" on my right.
I corrected that but ended up in the bank opposite. Over a 90 deg spin as you can see by the bits of clay stuck to the offside front. Hmmmm !

A severe reality check to not be too complacent and equally many thoughts as to what would have happened if it had been midnight going home after a darts match.

Just like the "Six Million Dollar Man" - Pug can be repaired. I'm just waiting and hoping I won't be charged that amount.

Arillas today , back soon. - Stay well all.
Negg

Jo

Haven't heard any news on Costas on the beach. As you know, he had a very good and efficient team there. I think Costas has a few sisters so  maybe one will take on the role as "Capt"

Cheers

Thank heaven you escaped with no more than a "reality check." The car looks pretty damn awful though. Will your insurance cover it? P'raps we'd better have a whip-round....

The roads round here are just as bad. It's why I prefer to drink....

Look after yourself son...
