During the Venetian occupation there were tunnels built between Vidos and Corfu Town and the criminals were transported though these tunnels to the island some of the cells are still standing it must of been hell

If you get a chance go and have a look around and see the rabbits millions and  pheasants you are walking along then a  pheasants flies out in front of you and make you jump and the odd goat trotting past and a very good Restaurant good food. And you can walk around the island to little coves

Is that Cat Snake (Telescopus fallax): Although it belongs to the family of venomous snakes, its venom is weak and poses no significant threat to humans. This nocturnal snake can be found in rocky areas or amongst vegetation.

Or

Horned Viper (Vipera ammodytes): This is the most dangerous snake species in Europe and can also be found on Corfu. It has long fangs to deliver venom and a distinctive horn on its head. It has a long reach, so it is advised to keep your distance and seek immediate medical attention if bitten.

The cat snake is a stubborn 'ole bugger and much , much bigger. You don't see many as, being stubborn, they don't like to move form anyone of anybody. Vehicles beware!!

This was not a horned viper and I rescued it from three cats, with glove on, who had surrounded it and taking turns to bash it on the head..
But twas an angry lil thing and wanted to eat my thumb!!!
(and the cats wern't happy!)
