Anyone know  how long it takes on the ferry from Corfu to Piraeus? also how reliable are they as to departure times etc.
and the aprox cost,

Hi kes. Just had a flick onto alta vista. Have a look, it gives a timetable for the ferries etc.

Hi Lidypops...I have searched the ferry pages but it is very confusing and most of the searches I have done do not show any reliable info....
btw are you returning to Arillas later this year?

Hi Kes,

I could be wrong but I'm not sure that it is possible to travel from Corfu direct to Piraeus by ferry.

I think you would have take a ferry from either Corfu or Igoumenitsa to Patras, from there it is approx a 4 hour drive to Pireaus..or so I am told.

Here are the links I use for Ferry information/timetables/booking,

You might find that it would be quicker and cheaper to get to Athens with Aegean Airline, that is if  you book early enough... http://www.aegeanair.com/aegeangr/home/index.asp  ...

I think Eileen is right, try minoan.gr for clear pricing for Venice and Ancona to Corfu, Igoumenitsa and Patras. Nice boats and a good way to start and end a holiday.

Give it a go Kes. I saw the ferry to/from Patras. Yes, Kes, we hope to be going back. Are you? Have you got loads of rain "over the river"? We`ve had some today. Bfn.

thanks all for the info..Thats the conclusion I was coming to ..ie no direct link.....what is it about Corfu?..no cheap flights and cant even get a direcy Ferry link to Piraeus :-)
(wonder if the Royal Iris is a/v)
(Mersey ferry of old for none scousers)
Actually I am being Greedy,,We are going to Santorini in September 2008 for my sons wedding..(only for one week,) and I will not get through the following Winter without my Arillas FIX !! so we are looking to come to Arillas the week before and then travel on to Santorini.  Yes Lindypops we are back in september and no, It has not rained today(up to now anyhow).

Eileen

Go for it Kes...it sounds like a good excuse for a holiday with a difference!

Last year we flew to Rome before travelling to Corfu...o.k sorting through train and ferry timetables was a hassle...but hey it was a fun trip :-)

You can go from Pireaus to Thira (Santorini) no problem, I'm sure you will find the details on the links I gave earlier....but don't forget to price the flights..it will probably leave you more time in Arillas ;-)

Further info' on Santorini can be found here... http://www.santorini.tk/santorini/

Thanks Eileen...yes the piraeus to Santorini is no problem (about 4 hrs)
but yes I may look at the flights.....and then again if we did it the other way and had the second week in Arillas it would take the worry out of not getting there at all & missing the wedding(not a good idea (although it would save me a few bob!) ha ha!

I will have to sleep on it......
