The lamposts were working over Christmas and my Mum still does her daily walk with the dogs over the headland, the path is shrinking but is still there, just be extra careful at night on the drop down to Arillas.

Thanks Joe, I think we will give the night wanderings a miss though.

Do they have a sign on a lampost  " Here is where Joe fell in 2006".

OOh!  that sounds a bit final but you know what I mean!

Hi Blonde girl
We always have a walk over to San Stef and the path has always been fine, just keep to the inside rather than the sea side of the path.  Once you get to the top of the cliff you can see both Arillas and San Stef and it looks great.

I agree, it's a fab view, Amanda.  I had a little peek inside the tiny church/memorial building on the top, it was so lovely.

Hi there
Word has it that the little memorial statue up there is for a 16 year old girl.  She threw herself off the cliff up there because of a boy.

Amanda, there are two memorials up there - one smaller one like you see at the side of the road and then this tiny little church - even has an altar.  It's so pretty and peaceful up there, I stayed for ages.

The one like you see at the side of the roads is for the girl.
I have also been in the church and it is gorgeous with all the little pictures on the walls.

We did walk it last year, we loved the views and the sign at the side of the cliff that says no entry... Wonder how many people have photographed that.  Its just that Joe said last year it was crumbling away a bit and wondered how much it had corroded and whether it was just a "donkey path" now.  I would like to do it again.  We left early in the a.m. and got into San Stef. and had breakfast on the beach... lovely omelettes...  then we walked back the road way looking in all the gardens.... it was a lovely walk, it was easier going back past the church down the hill than going up it. We are taking our friend this year and hoped we can do the same walk, just hope it doesnt finish her off, although Mike had a bad leg last year and he managed it.

It is so sad to see the little memorials at the side of the road for those who have died, some are in very dangerous places too on the bends .  The candles always seem to be burning, do they use electric candles I wonder or do they light them every night.

We are so looking forward to going after reading all the latest reports of others holidays this year.
