Have not got a clue?
« on: March 27, 2007, 11:28:40 AM »
Hi !

Not been to Corfu since the eightys!

Can somebody help me select an apartment please with the following:

1.  Some were within 5-10mins walk  of Arillas centre.
2.  No 'Cardiac hills' please.
3.  Small property with a nice pool.
4.  Home made Greek cooking. (Authentic Greek please).
4.  Late departure room available.
5.  Near to a supermarket would be a bonus.
6.  Clean and friendly.

Any help would be good.

John.

Hi John,

If you take a look at the map on the home page and click on the tourist map you can see where all the apts are. You can click on the dots for further information.
The road out of Arillas to San Stef does incline more towards the top, but you should be able to get a general idea from this.

If you go straight up the road past the Captains and towards the bakery and supermarket there is a very slight incline and we stayed at the Galini.  Its not too bad but Mike had a bad knee last year and found the walk a tad too much so we are booked nearer the beach this year at the Bardis Sun.  Some people didnt mind it and it only took about 10 mins at the most.
If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.

My advice if you wanted to tick all your boxes would be either The Horizon hotel on the beachfront which has lovely pool and fabilous food very relaxed atmosphere.  The Marinaki on the front, great family lovely apts and pool but only food is snacks throughout the day (tavernas are next door however). (supemarkets are near both of these).  The Marvel Hotel is also lovely, with great pool and food.  Irene Villa's which are next to the Marvel are also lovely and you can use the Marvel's pool.

You really cannot go wrong in Arillas as there are so many gorgeous properties to choose from!

Hiya! If you've not been to Greece since the 80's - you're in for a nice surprise going to Arillas. It's remained unspoilt and is very quiet and relaxing. As for ticking all your boxes- I can strongly recommend The Marvel too. No hills, 5 min walk to centre and supermarket and only another couple of mins to the beach- if you'd rather not laze by the pool. Spiros is happy to organise a late room too - so long as there's nobody checking into that room. The food is nice but for true auhentic Greek cuisine you can't beat Brouklis taverna which is on the right just down from the marvel. Incidentally, there's a bargain going on eBay for the Marvel for 2 weeks at £550 bids. ( Someone posted this earlier). No matter where you go, you'll love Arillas!

Hi Johnbull

I can highly recommend the Kaloudis Village Appartments.

Just about on the sea front
Near all the tavernas
Near the supermarkets
Absolutely spotless
Has own pool, again spotless
Helen's own greek cooking

Fantastic place, going back this year for 8th time.
