I used to stand their corner, but not anymore!  I think their love peace and happiness morals basically only extends to their own group...... they can be rude to anyone else!
As for crapping along footpaths , well sorry , its surely not acceptable in anyones eyes 🙄
After saying all of that I have to say I know they're not all the same

Hi I know this subject is a bit touchy
But a few years back when our grandson Billy was very young. In the Tria one of the hippy brigade was speaking to Billy for ages she was a genuine person.
I do understand them sitting in a tavern just drinking water if proprietors let them sit so there enjoying themselves so what
What
The proprietors should ask them are you having a meal if no say the tables are all booked
I don't mean a bottle of water and a plate of olives
It's got to Bea full meal

The person who owns the hippy site is said to Be a millionaire ? So I was told

Quote from: Truth on July 25, 2025, 03:01:30 PMThe tree huggers may not spend a lot in the Taverna's but they do have money thats for sure !  We have noticed that the prices of clothing , such as linen dresses , has gone up ridiculously over the last few years so much so its out of our price range now ..... the tree huggers however seem to mop them all up without a thought !
I know of a few people that have been there while the festival was on  , including Sonia , that were far from impressed with the vibe about the place 🤔
Yes Karl there certainly was a bad vibe the first week of outer holiday while the Calobre festival was on. They have 1.5 hours for lunch which means they have to get down into Arillas, eat and be back within this time. We were in Gratselas one day for lunch when two lads from the festival asked for a Table- their was only one spare table which had reserved on it. Thomas explained it was reserved and they asked when and so Thomas explained in half an hour at which point they said they would not be that long and sat down. They therefore expected to be served before everyone else in there who had ordered or were waiting to order. The festival goers expect fast service and fast food. Thomas confirmed this was his experience of them. Also they come in and ask for a table but will not commit to how many people and saying we'll there might be 2, 4 or 6 of us. Ridiculous.  I have to say that the Bardis family at Gratselas handled it all with politeness but I think they need to be firmer. Gratselas is the nearest place to the festival so they seemed to get a lot of the festival goers.  The week after the festival was so much nicer for everyone including us regulars and the taverna owners. I just hope that it does not put non festival goers off. We will now be more mindful of when we book. We did speak to one of the festival goers who was in the apartment next to us, a lovely lady and she said she may not go back herself as when she started going there was 600 people whereas this year there was 2100 people attending.

Just want to say, whilst agreeing with the rest of the comment, I believe the 'crapping along the footpath' was one, isolated incident, that nobody witnessed actually taking place, so nobody knows who was responsible and I think it's a bit unfair to be blaming the happy clappies. I think it's more likely to simply have been someone taken short, who didn't really have much choice, given the distance from any proper  facilities.

Fair point Angie . Like I say , I used to defend these people but it almost becomes impossible to at some point.
Once we were eating in Thalassa. Two guys and a woman came in and basically were discussing that it was a full moon and that it would be great for group sex because of it!
I've no issue with the act , each to their own,  but discussing it openly in front of kids in a restaurant is bang out of order !
One of the Guru's also had to make a hasty exit one year after certain 'allegations' were made against him. This info came from a frequent visitor to the 'retreat' to so I have no reason to believe it wasn't true.
Anyway , I'm just off to contact my solicitor to defend me in court for slander 🤣🤣🤣

Group Sex , Karl? - and I missed it! - Bummer
The last time I went to a wife swap I came home with a fridge freezer. More responsive!!!

But, there are many fake "Gurus" out plus many folk who beleive in what they do.

There is a Greek saying I think which translates...

Many who want to be shafted will return and be shafted again!

Cheers

Correct mate!   I'm sure the vast majority believe in what they follow but a lot pretend to believe so that they can mingle and reap the 'benefits'

Hi
Agree. If that was the case there are more discreet places. Behind a bush?

It was not an isolated incident when they left  their makeshift  campsite on the hill going towards the Makraki.
Their toilet area they left behind was disgusting and that included the toilet paper.

Not all can be tarred with the same brush I know, but even a minority can be a pain in the backside.

Thankfully have only encountered them en masse once
