Room tax

No problem with me if it helps the environment etc but why is VAT added?
Maybe it's you know who who says it has to be paid.
Not adding VAT to room tax, yet.

To be fair, I think Audrey's post was tongue in cheek.

Speaking for myself, I'm quite happy to pay for the bags for the reasons you've already stated, Eggy.
We've had to do it in the UK for some time now, and I don't see any reason why we shouldn't in other countries.

while we were in Rhodes this year we had to pay 56 euor room tax,but the only time we were charged for a plastic bag was at the Airport and that bust after about 5 minutes,not as good as they used to be.

The plastic bag was a no-no then?? - But I am sure you got your money back playing with that other item on a 3 hour flight.

no we had already boarded when i noticed the bag was bust and it was a good 4 hours(or not so good in our case)
