Some tips for you.

One purp of the horn is just an acknoledgement or a polite reminder they are there.
Two or three purps is a tad on the angry side.
(Unless you see someone you know than they the are "excited purps")

Head up plus a smile is just like saying thankyou.

and...... if someone is on yer tail stop yer car get out, open yer boot and say......
......Θέλεις να μπεις εδώ μέσα; (theleis na beis edtho mesa)
You wanna get in here???

also ,beware that at 3am every morning the Greek Councils move the large holes around!!

Have a good potter and when you overtake an annoying Quad bike make sure yer passenger gets 'em with the door as you pass.

Cheers , and be nice to an 'ole fart with a Punto , or Fiesta.

The beach is looking very busy, more parasols every day. The exciting bit about having a hire car is not just the really crap roads, it's more the taxi drivers trying to beat there best time to and from the airport! Then there are the scooters and bikes who think they have a force shield around them, and it's always your fault as you blast them with your horn (I enjoy that bit, it relieves any stress levels) I am still trying to decipher some of the Greek drivers hand gestures😂🚕🏍🛵

Hi

Some interesting trends happening...

The Pound has made solid gains against the Euro rising to 5-week highs.1.1716 today

These trends are essentially a reversal of what happened in March and early April.

It's pretty much being driven by trade deals and a corresponding shift in risk appetite.

The US-UK trade deal has benefited the Pound with President Trump saying the UK is a 'great friend of the United States. (Time will tell lol )

The Euro has been a big loser recently, not only falling against the Pound but also against the Dollar

As investors are feeling more optimistic, the big institutional money is flowing out of the Euro and back into the US Dollar and Pound.

The level the Pound looks more vulnerable though.
On Thursday this week,  the latest UK GDP data will be announced. It's expected to show the economy has stalled to 0.0% growth ie no growth at all. Not good

This  could trigger the Bank of England to cut rates further, which would be Pound negative. Although there seems to  a division within the BOE is this the right time for another rate cut as inflation is expected to rise again

Arillas today? Around 26deg and pleased all who arrived plus those who already had the sunbeds!

I was happy to get home without incident but did chuckle at 2 drivers who refused to give way and held up traffic.
......and they were both Greek who saw me laughing at them! - Whoops!!!

Aaahhhh , tis all fun.

     vine

trumpet vines (Campsis radicans) do have pods. After the bright trumpet-shaped flowers bloom, they develop into long, bean-like seed pods that are attractive and can be harvested for propagation.

Well , Billy D , I hope you will take it easy.

This is why I and many locals get so annoyed at "newbie" drivers who just stop dead at a T-Junction and don't even think what is behind them.

Obviously "my Fault" as I was "too close" but fortunatly my speed was such that little damage was caused. THe front fascia will need to be refitted as it dropped a tad.
No damage to the hire car except a refit of the rear panel but insurance had to be called which delayed both drivers for 90 minutes plus

This was Thursday and Friday afternoon I sat at our little Kafenio an watched 2 cars stop dead at a bend. "Do I go straight or turn right???"
The cars behind were not happy

But... Arillas today is a good one, despite the lady opening her passenger door as I approached.
(Nearly took the door off but she did not notice as she was brushing crumbs off her trousers)

Anyway... 20 deg dry and getting very busy.
Cheers
