A day trip to Corfu Town.....

......so due to arrive 2nd week in Sept for the first time......is a day trip to Corfu Town do-able without hiring a car?

The simple answer is yes....there is an early morning bus, but you can book a trip at any of the tourist shops in the village - they all advertise with boards outside when there is a trip and where etc....
Early morning or evening is best in my view at this time of year - it gets incredibly hot in town.

.......so early morning trip on local bus sounds great, plan to stay for the whole day, so returning in the evening is ok?

Early Morning local green bus leaves really early and returns from Corfu about 2pm both journeys take nearly 2 hours as it stops everywhere you don't get long there and you will find you are clock watching as this is the last bus backto Arillas.
The local trip from Arillas Travel was 10 euro for the evening trip leaving Arillas at 4pm returning at 10pm each journey about an hour.

thanks for the info...looks like the organised trip will suit us  best...morning on the beach, evening exploring Corfu Town with a meal and a nice bottle of wine on our return....sounds appealling!!!
