i would say no one has anything to worry about arillas beach is great and we didnt come across any scary scary animals when we were there and swimming about.......the worst thing was salt going in my eyes.lol

We were in Arillas recently, and although we didn't see it for ourselves, some people we met on the beach saw a "fish" in the shallows that had partly buried itself in the sand but had what they described as an "Iguana-like" head sticking out.  When we described this to Jimmy Anthis at the Rainbow complex he told us it was a dragon fish, which is very painful if trodden on. He told us of one person who had to come home early because of the pain as there's only so much the doctor can do for you.
Fortunately I think that this is a rare occurrence but it is worth taking note of.
By the way, it didn't stop us from enjoying the sea, we just took as much care as possible.

Didn't mean to scare anybody - just thought sharing what info we had might help people avoid something nasty.  We spent every day on the beach and in the sea as did lots of other people without incident.
It's probably more dangerous walking down the street !!

hey sue,

i can assure you that we never saw anything in the sea appart from sand and those ickle fish. i'm scared of anything like that ever since a crab bit my toe when i was a kid. if all this talk of sea monsters hasn't put off going in the arillas sea then it must be pretty safe!! Don't worry, just watch where you're treading
