Could someone please give me a idea of the drive time from the airport and what the roads are like?

Cheers

Sandy x

I've done it in little over half an hour at night in a taxi but when I'm driving, I always allow an hour! The roads are pretty good, but get narrower as you get nearer Arillas.

Hi Mikee,

You could try looking here

http://www.arillas.com/page/option,com_smf/Itemid,165/topic,4010.msg52071/lang,en#msg52071

And there are some videos here that show what the roads are like..

And this was a bit of an experiment but it does show the route.

I hope  this helps....one day I want to vodeo the complete journey

We have been visiting Arillas for 9 years now.  This year was the first time I drove from the Airport.  If I can do it, then!!!! It took us 40 minutes.  the directions for Zambeta are also really good.

hello zaminur143. You are right - the forum is a friendly environment, made by people who experience that friendliness whenever we are in Arillas itself.  If we know the answer to a question we will always promptly post it.

Because of the forum, I now count Terry, Eileen, Sandy and JohnTheRef as good friends. I have met them all for real in Arillas. But they are a long way from the only friends I have met through this amazing website. You would do us great service to keep on joining us all by posting now and then.

Are you planning a visit to Arillas this year?

I agree with all the comments so far. Basically I put the journey into 2 halves, the first half being on a good fast road, much of it dual-carriageway with well-signposted junctions and large road signs.
After climbing up and over the 'big hill' at Troumbeta Pass you soon begin the 2nd half which consists of smaller, slower and often twisty roads where you have to pay more attention. The road signs are smaller but the potholes bigger !  Personally I enjoy this part of the journey much more than the 1st part as it is the Corfu scenery and villages which I love.
Go for it but allow up to an hour the 1st time.
