I have read posts related to this subject but can't really find any proper answers(probably me just being thick)?
But we a group of 8 are looking to spend a few hours or so in the town and was wondering
a/ what time buses go from arillas and return?
b/ do tour operators run trips to the town as an excursion?
c/ how much?
d/ any other ideas welcome?
e/ an appology for starting up another thread on this subject from my behalf, lol
many thanks on any information on this subject.

We have the same idea of getting a bus to Corfu Town, and back.

What I'll be doing next week, is checking the bus timetable in Arillas.

Hopefully someone with experience will answer this for us both?  :-)

I assume (from experience) there is a long lunch break between 13:00 and 16:00 as seems to be common in Greek Islands.

Therefore plan your trip carefully.  ;-)

Think there is only one bus a day and it leaves fairly early in the morning according to Spiros at The Marvel.
The popular trip to Corfu town that most tour operators offer is in the evening, leaving
about 4pm from Arilas and 10pm from pick up point in Corfu Town.We went with Thomas Cook in May and was about 21euros each per adult.Cheaper for children but can't remember how much.
You can also book locally with some of the places that do excursions, they tend to be a wee bit cheaper but had to 'kiss the badge'.
There is a link to Olgas Travel on Home Page.Maybe worth emailing for info.Hope you do get down there and have a great time.

Hi Rugbymad,

As there are eight of you another option to consider is to hire a mini-bus.  I'm certain it would be cheaper than each of you paying the price of an excursion.

Try emailing Arkokal travel for details of the mini-bus service...you will find their contact address on their website... http://arkokal.gr/body_index.html

If you have a problem pm me and I can find out alternative contact details for mini-bus hire.

We have walked over to San Stephanos and caught the bus to Corfu Town from there before.  Can't remember the times but it runs regularly throughout the day.

The bus to Corfu Town runs once a day from Arillas about 6.45am returning around 2.00pm (50 /60 minuet journey)
Book with Arillas Travel they go regular to Corfu Town, better to go in the afternoon around 4.00pm returning 10.00pm costs about 10 euro. Mini bus seems a good idea though if there's eight of you.
