Is this Arillas ?
« on: March 12, 2010, 10:38:56 AM »
I came across this video twice on the web supposedly showing Agios Georgios north-west but it definitely isn't.  The commentary describes the situation correctly but where was the video taken?

There is facility to make Comments and I have done so.

Some frames, but not all, seem to me as if they might show Arillas viewed from the north but I have no photos from that angle to compare with.  Even then I am sure that not all the video is of the same place.
The person or company which posted the video is called Shepherd Entertainment. A Google search reveals this might be a USA site which sells films including one called the Greek Islands. If this is an example of what you get, what a waste of money!

The last shot panning out looks as if it could have been filmed from the track that goes to Agios Stefanos. The angle of the shot effectively hides Arillas.

But then again I may be entirely wrong.

Dennis, it's definitely not the Agios Georgios that we all know & love.
I know what Rothers means though about the view from the track, it looks similar to Arillas beach, but in the distance there's a sheer cliff face which doesn't exist in Afionas & looking at the beach from the other direction, there are no Diapontian Islands.

There are similarities, but I also think it's not Aillas. Very disappointing.

I agree, I think it's Agios Gordis South although it's a few years since we were there.

Thanks for clearing that up Mike. Just 'Googled' Agios Gordis - images & it looks very nice. [Not as nice as Arillas though!] Might just venture down to the south one day & spend the day there.

BTW, welcome to the forum.
