Is looking very lonely today, don't know how long before its taken away for for hibernation and some TLC, but it would be nice to see some bottoms on it from those that still live work and play in or near to Arillas - its not just there for the tourists or even us Arilliacs who helped put it there it is for all to enjoy - I certainly wish I was there now with my rear firmly placed looking out to sea and having one of those quiet contemplation moments - ahhh bliss.....oh I forgot glass in hand would be a bonus and as our Erja would say " deep sigh" x

The problem is that the Jetty bench is still in use, at the moment, because of the pleasant weather we are having here.
Gary is set to remove the bench very soon but bums are still making active use of it. It will be a hard man indeed who says to a couple:-
"Excuse me , but please remove your buttocks as I have to take the seat away"

Each day this week two people have been sitting watching the sunset from the bench, and I have been watching them!
I can't tell you how it makes me feel as they walk down the jetty, sit for a little while and then walk back, I just feel that I am there with them.
I will be there again about 3pm tomorrow, I wonder if they know.

Don't blame her Sharon meluvver, she just wears her heart even more on her sleeve than I do. I love hearing how our Val follows daily life on the w e b c a m. I am usually at work when she is doing so, but it lifts my heart when I get home and read it on't forum. Like us she and Bill are Arilliacs.
Her heart is as big as mine, and completely full of Arillas. We met ValnBill for the first time this July but it won't be the last. Such is the power of this forum.

Phil many thanks for defending me, you know me well because you and Jen understand why I visit Arillas every day. Like most of us who check in every day I guess I am addicted, and admit that every time I walk past the computer I click on to Arillas.com, I find Sharon on a lot too Ha ha. Though she is an early bird sometimes.
Tomorrow at 3pm (5 in Arillas) have a look on the web-cam you might see the couple sitting on the bench. Are staying in the village? Do they live there? Do they drive there to sit on the bench?
I just wish I could be there and ask them.

justlove the new role - Val is the Arillas stalker. She stalks everything Arilliac, and like me isn't afraid to say so. Poor ole Jen and Bill get caried along in our wake.... DONCHERJUSTLOVEIT?

It has been controversial, damaged, abused, but the whole point was how a forum member (our lovely kevin.g) put our donations into effect. Trying to give something back to the place and community we all get so much from. Our Jetty Bench is a symbol of that. No more, no less.

I agree with Val, Anne & Phil - Thanks to all concerned.
As far as I can see there is no photograph of the bench on this thread so this one is posted to remedy that.

I am not usually one for photos but that looks absolutely beautiful ! I WILL be visiting this bench with a can of Mythos and a picnic in August !

Val, yep thats me, I usually have a nosey before I go to work at 7am! lol. Eggy you need to be the bench stalker for us, we need to know who it is on it! :)

The bench is still being put to good use and the weather is a pussycat and is being as nice to it as it can possibly be.
But.... It will be put into hibernation soon.

I quite like seeing it there, so whilst the purring continues keep on enjoying the bench.

I have spoken to Gary and we both think the bench should remain "in-situ" until after Christmas, weather permitting.
We are currently enjopying temps of around 19deg at 4 pm today and if the weather stays this good for December you may see bums on seats Christmas and boxing day.
It is getting a lot of respect from various shaped buttocks right now.
( I am thinking of becoming the new "Seat Attendant" and charging one euro per botty , e2.50 for 3 botties - But, I may need a "jobs worth cap" ! )

I watch the bench most days, on and off, and see quite a few people using it, at dusk, if somebody isn't sitting on it there is nearly always someone on the jetty. So I think it should stay until the weather is to wintery for it to be used.

I have never seen so much activity on the jetty,at half past nine our time there was
5 people having a stroll and a boat speeding going past.

Just seen 6 people having a chat near the the 'bridge' bit. Weather looks very good, wish I was there to join in!

5pm in Arillas and 12 people on the jetty, also a moped on the first part. Sometimes in the height of summer you never see that many at once!
The temp. was 15 degrees.
