It certainly is lovely here today. I love this time of year, the spring flowers, fireflys and everone busy getting ready for the new season. And, being selfish, peace, quiet and very few tourists.
For those who are homesick I've posted a few photos to http://www.arillas.co/ (http://www.arillas.co/)

Lovely Dai, thank you. What a lucky chap you are!
-
Many thanks Dai, just 20 days and we will be there, can't wait.

Thanks for the photos Dai, they are a wonderful insight into Arillas as it looks at the start of the season. I am sure you will be doing lots of walking so I hope you can take and publish a lot more photographs.
The donkey track looks a bit iffy. Whose any good at long jump?
-
Loved the photos Dai
I'm echoing everyone else keep them coming .

Yes it does look fantastic. Where is it that you are staying?
-
That is Villa Maria Stammatis, lovely place, so rustic.
-
You are right, as you know it's fantastic, but hands off it's mine, well until 20 july at least and Maria and Stamatis are so nice.
Added a few more photos to www.arillas.co (http://www.arillas.co) for those interested. It's nice to see the place getting busier, more places opening or preparing to open and more tourists around.
Terry you are right, I do usually do a fair bit of walking but this holiday I'm hoping to do more writing than walking....we'll see. Been up to Afionas and over to San Stef. Can't believe first week is almost gone.
Met Martin W and friends the other night, very nice guy, only to find out he lives a few hundred yards from me in Cardiff. Happy hols to those due to come over soon.

Bl**dy superb Dai. Thank you big-time for posting those pics. Will buy you a big Mythos if you find us between 12th and 20th July. Just then we will be the winners, we are staying until 29th. And like all of us, however long we stay it is over too quickly, and never enough. Mind you, if I've clocked it right that first week was only 10 percent, you lucky b*****d. (I'm quoting Jen there.)
Enjoy!

Cloudy day the other day so I wandered over to Sidari, added some more pics on www.arillas.co (http://www.arillas.co)
The last pic is one of the improvements made in Arillas this year, shelters/pens for the bins. Only a little thing but does make a difference, especially when like the one in the photo someone's added some flowers.
Don't know what is happening in Arillas Inn, next to George's but someone has been in clearing all the triffids from inside. Hopefully someone is going to use the place. Apparently Georges place is being taken over by Alex, worked in Thalassa last year, and his dad.
Ah well, here come my next Mythos, Yammas all!
-
Yamas Dai! Lovely pictures once again :)
-
Thanks Dai........ never seen Sidari beach like that, only ever seen it covered with bodies when we pass through.
Your pictures are lovely, please keep posting them when you can.

The Amarylis are in the garden of the Thetis hotel on the back road to the beach turn left out of the Mathraki studios. They can also be found outside the bakery/cake shop yum yum just before Anna's studios turn right then left up the hill out of the Mathraki studios.
We have a meeting with the rep to let us know if we are flying out as scheduled at 5 pm. We are due to leave late Friday night so we will be long gone by the time you arrive........ but there again you neeeevvvvver know !!
Have a good holiday ValnBill wish we could stay to see you maybe one day XXX Nan

Thanks for your good wishes, sorry we won't meet this time.
Just watching the news on TV and it appears the ash has cleared and flights resumed all over the UK, in fact the volcano has stopped erupting, and the remaining ash is drifting northeast across Russia.
So looks like you will be home........ bummer. :( :( :(

Hi Dorothy, Efi's isn't open yet but won't be long. I've seen Efi and Katerina several times and opening is imminent. Are you and Jim coming over this summer?

Hi, well I'm here until 20th so drop in, you know where it is. Be nice to meet you and share a glass of something together.
-
Dai, I have looked at all your photos over the last few days but always revisit each posting when reading 'unread topics' to read all the posts of others....... and am I glad that your pictures are always worth another look, because otherwise I would have missed.........
effin arillas
And what a tragedy that would have been. This is absolutely brilliant. You are a real wordsmith, have you written anything else I should have read?
Having only joined the forum last year I am afraid I might have missed the fact that you are a published author and are famous.
Are you?
Keep on writing and we will keep on reading. Thank you for a lovely read.

Hi Val, than you for your very kind comments.
I took an OU writing course at the start of the year and am in the very early stages of writing a novel, which will take a few years. The idea of being here is to help inspire me but there are many distractions. I have made some progress and have the outline of the plot and started creating the main characters.
The research will take a long time, much longer than the time I have in Arillas on this vist, so that may need to be extended. If only......

Hi Di
I too have just read and thoroughly enjoyed "effin arillas"
"fag butt's" that turned into fireflies, that took me back to my first visit late april/may 1994,I had a similar thought.....perhaps its a welsh thing.
I closed my eyes when reading about the frogs and could hear the choir above the silence interrupted only by the distant scooter battling to get up some hill.
Lovely piece of writing.
After the past few days Ive had(hospital ahhh) and after reading this I am soooo looking forward to the 13th June.
Looking forward to reading more..

Dai, Bill and I wish you the very best of luck with your project, though from what we have read in 'effin-arillas' you're not going to need it.
We arrive on Monday evening staying at Mathraki, if we see you we will say hello (only you not the bear). Hope it's in a bar, lol. See you soon.
