Great Pics Terry.
Tony - make the effort - there's a nice little Taverna on the waters edge right next to it, AND they sell Ionian beer!!!

Can anyone tell me how to get to this place, Ive been before and watched the planes come over but cant remember how to get there. Is it far from the airpory?
-
It's a drive from the airport. There are two ways to get to the causeway as it runs from Kanoni to Perama. The easiest is to head to Kanoni as there's plenty of parking and a taverna. It's also where the Monastery Vlacherna is and you can get the boats to Mouse Island.
Go past the airport and basically keep heading right! It took us several attempts of going round in circles (much of that peninsula bit of Corfu town is one way but if you take the right fork each time you won't go far wrong :-]
I've tried to link to a map but the link is too long. So go into Google Maps and look for "Corfu Holiday Palace Casino" Nafsikas and zoom in. The hotel is on Nafsikas and the road that loops round to that is Palaiopolis. The road to the causeway is the dead-end road that runs below Palaiopolis. It's a very narrow 2 way road!

Thanks for that Topsey
Its great being right under those planes as they come in, if anyones not done it yet i'd highly recommend it (if its legal) Just a couple of weeks away now until ..........heaven Arillas

yes it's legal to sit on the causeway - or at least we've never been arrested in 4 years! At times it gets really packed. The locals ride over it on their mopeds.... and it's only about 2 feet wide!
I have lots of favourite locations in Corfu but the end of the runway (on a Monday or Friday) is probably in the top 2. I always duck when the planes come in, they are so low you just can't help it!

What fantastic photos,i'm a plane buff myself and seeing those pictures on Corfu,i'm now homesick. ; )

Just wanted to add to everyone else's comments about the images of the planes - they are FAB!!! I want to go to causeway right now and take an up close and personal look...well not too close :-)
