The missing ATM was a real pain in the a*** this year, so how about we all try to come up with an action plan to get one reinstated. We have all winter to do it and if we don't try we won't get.
Would pertitons to the major banks work, or maybe emails or letters from as many people as possible. We just need to get a message to the banks that Arillas needs an ATM, and that there would be many people who would use it.
I found a list of ATM's in Corfu, which may not be up to date, but there seem to be about 99 on the Island. I think we need to target the the following banks.
Emporiki Bank
National Bank of Greece
Alpha Bank
Citibank
Eurobank
Piraeus Bank
It will be a bit difficult getting the correct addresses and/or email addresses for the banks, baring in mind that we need to make an impact.
This is just an idea, but we can do it. What do you think?

I add two people to the list of users who desperately need ATM in Arillas as the beer tokens are spent fast in the village and more are needed always ;)
Get me an email address and I will write to them happily (as will Heidi from Finland!) and demand an ATM service in Arillas.

Well we are here and sitting on loads of travellers cheques. The ATM wasn't here when we first stayed in Arillas but it is so needed now. What our beloved place needs even more though, is a massive rise in occupancy and customers. If we want an ATM, we'd better get moving on promoting the village, the businesses and getting a few more bums on seats. And stopping the tour operators from ripping off our friends.
All this talk of "spoiling it" and "all inclusive" is rubbish. This year is now, and it is time to put our money and effort where our mouths are. All of us want Arillas to survive. If you ever want to come back here, drag a firend with you. Or preferably a large party of them.
I am hoping that our Eleni will respond. She cares nearly as much as I do.

Terry yes count me in too in your campaign! Ran out of money last week and had to go to Sidari cash point .....o.k. as we had a hire car but it would have been so much easier, obviously to have had access in the village!

If I remember rightly, the excuse for taking it away was that "it wasn't used enough" but it wasn't working for five weeeks, so surly we could use this to our advantage. The only thing I can see is against us is that the locals may not need it in the winter as much as we do in the summer season so nothing is being done. Can you see a way round this Terry, It's a shame we dont know how many visiters used it and how many with drawals the bank missed out on when it wasn't working. Viv
