-

-
As much as I would love to be there it would be toooooo hot for me... I would be in the pool/sea all day and look like a brown wrinkled sultana when I come out!
-
I'm so jealous of everyone there....I am sure i could put up with the heat. Lashing down here" AGAIN " .
-
13 more sleeps, I can't wait now. it'll be great to get away from this horrible weather.
-
Yes, pouring again here, too!
I'd much rather be putting up with all that heat!!

Sandy a lot of people were saying that. The outside temperature at the airport was unbearable this morning at 9 o'clock.
Sadly like the rest of you, it is wet, dull, miserable weather here in Glastonbury. But nothing can take away the memories of our last two wonderful weeks in a fairly hot Arillas.
-
Hi, Sandy. That`s some serious beach weather, but can people really stick it?
Suncream sellers` dream.

BBC weather saying 44 degrees centigrade friday and saturday, now that's serious heat. Can deal with 44 degrees fahreinheit (spelling?) but centigrade is another matter. Going to have to spend day sat in sea. Any of the bars got air conditioning?
-
alyvin, watch a film in the Coconut. Forget the afternoon sunbathing. We have been there when they recorded 48 degrees. Just slow down, chill and do something else. Sunbathe at 6pm till 8pm then watch the sun go down in Thalassa. Or Portofino. Or Horizon. Or?
When it is so hot you can always work it out.

Well its going to be HOT in Portsmouth this weekend because I’m in town.
However I intend to be too drunk to know much about it. ))
I would rather bee sober in Arillas.
-
Well 4x4, what are you doing in Portsmouth? You could have come to see me - that would have got Phil talking! - except I shall be in Birmingham with Michelle.

Sorry to hear that John - we've had a lovely sunny day in Southampton today.

Will be up all night trying to decide which one

Looking at the webcam this morning, the sea seems calm as a mill pond. I guess not a breath of wind around, which is why it is hotting up.
-
Ha ha Sandy! The doctor in Arillas pleaded with Jen "Does he EVER stop talking????" and his doctor wife Tania threatened to sew my lips together. Ah well.
Enjoy the trip and our best to Michelle.
4x4 I'm 17 in my head, exactly 40 years less than the rest of me!
And John, we sort of know how you feel......

Dont remember the 60's or 70's perhaps its Alzheimer's
However I do remember how great it was to be in Arillas this year.
The only problem with the heat is ................... errr. Nothing.
Just a good reason to have a beer.

I would do thunderstorms, lightning and rain to be back there right now. Perhaps I am one of the three witches from Macbeth.....
The fact it is hot and wonderful out there just rubs it in. Arillas, we are missing you and all you throw at us.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum and not been to Arillas before, but me and my boyfriend are going August 14th for 2 weeks!!! I'm very excited!
I have been checking out weather forecasts and so far they have looked really good. But I looked today and it says there will be thunderstorms and rain this weekend! A week before we go! I'm worried now! Can anyone reassure me???
Amanda.

Hi Amanda
Welcome to the forum
First visit not sure what to expect, DON’T WORRY
You are going to have a wonderful time
As for the forecast no problems, sit and watch the storms, make sure you have your camera with you (so you can post the pictures when you get home) The storms will pass and the SUN WILL SHINE AGAIN
You will be in Arillas you don’t have to worry about the weather, or anything else for that matter.
How I wish we were there
I would do thunderstorms, lightning and rain to be back there right now
I'm with you on that one Phil

Amanda
Local talk here is that a little rain is expected but no need to worry. It's usually a quick injection of water and , as JohnR says, it will pass and out comes the Sun.
Before you know it, you say "Rain? - Wot Rain?"

Thanks both of you for your replies, I've always been one of those that worries that the weather will be rubbish when I get there. I just don't want it to be showery or stormy every day but I'm sure it'll be fine.
Amanda.
-
Just got back from Zante and it was hot hot hot!! It was in the low 40's a couple of days and crept up to late 40's for one day. It seemed to get hotter day by day.
The pool was like a warm bath! We were hunting a round to find some shade.
-
Amanda C - welcome. As others have said, don't worry about rain or storms, they never last long. We are also going on 14 August from Norwich and this is our 12th year so can't be bad. You will love Arillas and the people and everything there.
-
Very excited now :) Heard nothing but good things about Arillas.
Are there any locals on here that I can say hello to when I get there?
Amanda.
-
Well Amanda - There's me!
A preverbial bad penny that can be found at many places-
Yer jsut got to get yer timing right,
Often found at the Ranbow playing darts or the Nut some times but mainly afternoons.
Or... just found wandering around Arillas beach with camera in hand, poised ready, like a coiled spring to take pics of happy faces for the Forum.
Look for white Fiat punto with a member of the living dead behind the wheel.
Cheers

Be aware of making contact with this man (eggy)
You will be dragged to a Dart Board and made to play until he beats you.
He will eat all your Jelly babies.
He will make you carry Bombay mix all the way to Arillas so that he can eat it all himself.
He will drag you down to his level and that’s about as low as a snakes belly.
But most of us are that low in any case.
Seriously though If you do see him say hello…… he’s not that bad.

Wow! Now that I would not mind seeing :)
-
It soon brightened up though and she text later to say she was on the beach!

We both love thunderstorms. We had a corker in Arillas last September. Made us some new friends! We were trapped in Elena Stella together and guess what, we got on like houses on fire. Linda and hubby. Sorry - names take longer... Monica served more beers than she had all summer. Er that was two...
We sat together and ruminated about all the stuff people do. The lightning and thunder crashed in. The power failed. Lara the dog ran and hid. But three hours later we were sunbathing with Jen in the pool at Rainbow.
Our Marika took a few pictures, so did many others. The storms are just as much a part of it all for me.

Absolutely Phil.....I agree...I love a good thunderstorm
