Finnmatkat recently published a list of some of its package holidays for the summer season of 2010. Arillas was not on the list, and I immediately contacted them to ask them why. They answered me that the full catalogue for 2010 will be ready in October, listing all resorts.
All you Finnish friends of Arillas, please let Finnmatkat know that we expect Arillas to be on that list!
By the way, does anybody know whether EasyJet flights from Helsinki can be combined with their flights from London to Corfu without having to stay in London over night?
We are looking forward to meeting old friends and new in Arillas next week,

Our lovely Erja is Finnish, but lives and works in London. I am sure she will contribute to your petition. An inebriated Arillas Addict from Glastonbury like me will sign up if it might help. Just let me know.

Thank you kevin.g., justphil and Sandy x!
Sandy, was your friend able to continue her EJ trip from London to Corfu on the same day she arrived with EJ from Helsinki to London? An extra night in London would make the whole trip a lot more expensive.

Hi everyone! (Newbie)  Help from all you Arillas experts!

I have been looking at Arillas and San Stefanos for a couple of months for Summer 2010 for 2 x adults and 2 x Children and am so confused as to where to stay!

We want S/C or B/B with a nice pool with a shallow end but close to the beach so the kids can go, pool, beach, pool, beach interspersed with icecream and drinks!

We looked at Kaloudis but a Tripadvisor review put me off with the mention of loud music until midnight, and other comments which I wouldn't like for the kids!  Is this right?
Nafsika looks good but wouldn't want half board which is all that thomsons offer!

Any advice would be really helpful!!  Sorry this is so long!!

Angela.

Angela luvver, the Mirage offers everything you want. Totally Thomas Cook I believe, so no independent travellers like us there. But maybe you will get what you really want from them somehow.

Every word you said made me think of Mirage. Stunning pool, good food, and dour but gorgeous Nikos who wants to be famous for his special frappe with condemned milk in it. The beautiful Arillas beach is 20 yards away and for young families it offers everything.

Look at my posts in Tell us Your Story on this forum - we spend ages with Nikos and Angela whenever we go to Arillas.

Kaloudis is special to many people who frequent this forum. It is ALIVE but not Blackpool. Loud music happens there but very few bother about it. If you want quiet we can do it for you. Arillas provides loud and late, early and quiet. Just be honest about what you really want. Then us lot will guide you to it.

Phil

Thanks for replying!  You said be honest with what we really want.

What we want is somewhere clean, safe and comfortable for us all but especially for the children as this will be their first time abroad which hopefully would consist of pool and close to be beach!  Quiet accommodation but somewhere we can go and find a little noise if we want but then retreat back to our balcony settle the kids and have a late night G & T before bed!

We like to go for a walk in the evening to find somewhere different/good to eat have a few drinks have a chat to people look at the views, go for a walk.

Ya know that kind of laid back stuff!  Lead busy hectic lives want simple unhectic holiday!

Will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary while there hopefully!
Help!
A

You mention Nafsika which is part of the Rainbow complex. I strongly recommend that - perfect for families and you can join in or not as you choose with what is going on at the bar. I stayed there all the years my kids were growing up - sometimes twice a year - from 1993 to 2008. It's safe, clean and a run by a wonderful family.

eldera darling, Arillas will tick all of those boxes and more. You might not know it yet, but new Arillas Addicts are in the making.....

Two choices for you luvvers. Bardis Sun or Mirage. Both offer you pool and families, and everything you say. Both are right by the sea front. Mirage is Thomas Cook, Bardis is independent. Poppy and Spiros at Bardis, Nikos and Angela at Mirage. Both totally ideal for young families, or olduns like us. You will love it there with young kids. Before you book send us a message and we will advise you.

Arillas is safe with a vegeance. If I had a young daughter I would be willing to let her free in the Nut or the Malibu. Many of our friends who do have youngsters agree with us. That is the loud bit. We adore the Coconut Bar (the Nut) and the peole who own it.

Yous will love being in Arillas. It sounds from your post that you know what you want, and our Arillas will provide it.

Best wishes

Phil

And there you go - Phil forgot about Nafsika, Rainbow and all those that Sandy just posted. You will find exactly what you want if you post on here and use our experiences of what is our favourite place in the world. If we know the answer we will give it to you.

Hi Pete and I love the Bardis studio's but if the children want to go down to the beach by themselfs there is a horrable bend in the road where you cant see whats coming the other way great for us but youngens do tend to forget everything else when enjoying themselfs.  If they are really young I would recommend The Nafsika. Im sure you will enjoy it no mattre where you stay if in Arillas.
Celebrating your 10th easy just tell them the day before no matter where you deciced to eat and the night will be made very special for you. Viv

I feel that there must be 2 Kaloudis Villages. I keep reading about all this noise and having stayed there 7 times I've never found it. Next year is my first time in the school holidays so maybe that will be nosier but I've never had a problem with noise. My sisters been a couple of times without me and has also never had a problem.
Maybe people were unlucky to be there at the same time as noisy guests of assumed the music coming across from elsewhere were Kaloudis. I can't imagine Billy or Christos allowing music to be played late.

Thank you so much for all your comments!

Anna from anna-Studios messaged me to promote their studies and must say this looks fine to me and she has given me a good price for the four of us for two weeks which is  much much better than any tour operator has given me!  Is the road busy/noist can't imagine it is?  One thing in Annas favour is that they are painted pink, my daughter very much approves!!!!

Don't know where you all hail from but Jet 2 Leeds airport price £850 inc taxes & baggage etc is that good?

I know that eyes are everywhere but Comments would be greatly appreciated!!
By the way the kids will be 8 and 4 when we travel if that makes any difference to your comments!

Thanks so much again.
Angela.

Price flights vary (dependent on time of year etc ) and it may be worth looking at Easyjet from Manchester...

We are flying with Tomson fly in May from Manchester in May for £240 10day return including taxes 20k luggage. I dont know if Jet 2 charge full price or not for children so you will have to work that one out. There again if you are very near L/B the conveniance may count for a lot. Viv

Thanks Vivian

I have looked at several flights from LBA and MAN.  Would you believe Thomson tried to charge me £1475 for 23rd July 2010!!!  It was actually cheaper from Leeds than Man by a couple of £100!?!?

Will probably go Jet 2 as works out a bit cheaper but not alot!!  Can't believe it costs that much in July when in May it costs £1000 less, taking the mick a bit me thinks!!

I already can't wait but have along time to wait yet!

Your Jet2 price is pretty good.  You could wait for Manchester with Easyjet, you may improve on this price by up to £200 - you will need to book them the day they are released though to get the best price.

Just got back from the nafiska and can strongly recommend it there were 4 of us 2 adults and 2 children aged 10 and 7 the girls loved it nice pool nice walk to the beach as you did pool then beach etc, food was good and hosts jimmy and spiros fantastic with the kids although you do get some noise not loud kids will fall a sleep quite easily whilst we enjoyed a drink on the balcony. the apartments themselves are quite large 2 bedroms sitting area with tv, kitchen area although kitted out with cooking equipment never used except kettle, bathroom basic but does have a hairdryer.
just booked up for next year going in august found deal on t/c for 1342.80 for fornight although it is night flights  and booked 4 adults and not 2 adults 2 children as this bumps it up another 250

We have just rebooked for 2010 after a wonderful 2 weeks at the Rainbow. We went online to Thomas Cook and printed off their offer then took it to our local Travel Agent and asked them to match the price. They gave us  a better price for the same holiday plus we were able to ask for our preferences i.e. top floor, ground floor or whatever. I know that's not guarenteed but you don't seem to get that option direct on line. Also is it only Bristol flights that give 15kg baggage allowance, talking to other people who flew from other airports and they seemed to have 20kg. Any way now counting down all over again to September. 49 weeks

I agree, true Addicts will find a way to return to Arillas. Not everybody, however, will be able to cope with the extra cost this might involve. But Arillas also needs newcomers, and one thing is for sure: there will be few, if any, new Arillas Addicts from Finland, which is sad.

Staying in Arillas is getting more expensive every year, we have booked @ the Mirage again for our 6th visit August 2010 & happy to say again we out foxed Thomas crook. As we are a family of 3 (2 adults & 1 Child) they charge £1400+ for 2 weeks SC but if we book for 3 adults the same 2 weeks £1069!!!!!! the travel agent we booked through say they do this practice often as putting children on your form adds £200+ BECAUSE they are kids what a rip! As date of births are not given & not on the tickets no problem........Helpfull if any of you guys want to save a few squid :)
