Yes Sharon that was us on Friday walking past the Marina, you were walking to the beach, we were on our way to C'chelles to buy a necklace for Daisy to take back, waited for the rain to stop, thought it was never going to, shame we woke up to that on our last day.
Justlisa - I remember you and your hubby from Kaloudis last year, when I came back I thought that you were Mr and Mrs Riggers. Riggers told me that you were Lisa and Steve!

On our first visit to Arillas I marched up to a bloke in The Nut , held out my hand and said ."Eggy , pleased to meet you "!
This bloke (with shaved head and goatee) just stared at me looking a little bit frightened and then ignored me !
Nope it wasn't him !
I was a bit wary after that .
Last visit though Dimitris pointed out Sandy and we had a little chat.
Sometimes you're a little bit pensive as you don't want to intrude on folk's holiday.
And then when you get home someone comes on here and say's "Why didn't you come over , we don't bite "!
Hard to get the balance !
I forgot about Eggy! i think I spotted him from the coach transfer on the way in, either in the Coconut or the Malibu on Friday 19th at about 7.15pm?! He was probably meeting you Riggers!

We where in the Horizon. having an evening meal when someone sat behind me in an Arillas Addicts "t" shirt.
I was not sure what to do.
Do you slap them on the back and say "I am an Arillas addict and I claim my prize" or do you do nothing.
Well I ordered another drink, so I did not actually do nothing but, I did not "come out" as it where.
So next year I will make an effort.
I will smile at everyone and give them a knowing wink.
That should get a reaction.
Must meet you 4x4, you seem like a laugh and i could do with borrowing your car for a weeks. lol

Well the bodywork is a bit knar led, but when you have been off road as much as I have its only to be expected. In fact I could double as an underground map with all my battle scars.

I dont look anything like my forum pic either.
I rely on my 'Arillas.Com' T shirts, although this May I was recognized by quite a few from my photo! It was great to meet fellow members and make new friends.
On previous threads I have suggested a 'Forum Badge' so that members wishing to 'come out' can wear a distinctive sign. Just a thought.

I look the spitting image of Claudia Shiffer but you'd never know it from my forum photo!!! Strange that people will happily chat on these pages revealing likes and dislikes but won't make the first approach if they think they recognise someone.
Last year at the Mathraki we arrived late in the evening and went down to the bar and joined a group of happy friendly people. I already knew from the forum that some members would be staying at the studios but they had a lovely photo of a black labrador on their profile so no clues there!
" So which one of you is the Green Goddess then?!" I enquired. One lady peeled out laughing and introduced herself as Suze. It's true what Phil says "There are no strangers in Arillas only friends you havent met" We enjoyed their company and had a great week.

Nan luvver, I agree so completely with your sentiments. I have to correct you out of deference to him, it was TerryW who coined those wise words about friends you have yet to meet. But we both so obviously agree.
Jen and me just relate to anyone who wants to. If it emerges they are on the forum then so be it.
But if I recognise someone from their pic (eg a house, a foot in the pebbles, a car, a toddler, a cartoon, a hedgehog) I just go up and say "are you on the arillas forum?"
I haven't been arrested yet for soliciting a 4x4....

I really envy you people who can approach anyone you think you recognise, it's very difficult for me and other half as we're quite introverted (or 'insular' as my northern mate describes us!) I've done it a couple of times and got knocked back once so that put me off a bit.
I'd love to have a bit more courage 'cos you all sound as if you have a bloody good laugh!
I'll try harder next year. probably after a couple of Mythos/cocktails.

Strangely enough I thought I'd not met Eggy - until I realised when we got back that he too was at Viv and Pete's wedding blessing on the beach! Sorry for not recognising you, sir - I was that fat bird in the blue and white sundress, standing on her own in "the front row" enjoying every minute and singing along with the vicar and his missus..
We recognised Martin W as he had an Arillas Addict T shirt on, then he introduced us to Pete who was just going in to Ina's shop at the time, then we met Viv and the rest is history
We find that wherever we walked (or whichver taverna we stopped off at..) we got talking to someone and that is great!

I certainly did recognise you Phil... I raced over to say hello! What have you got to lose - if it isnt who you think it is, its a good way to introduce yourself.
The first year we went it was a bit embarassing as people were saying are you "blondegirl"? Expecting a 6 ft, slim blonde under 30 girl! Ha... they got a shock!
But they recognised you blondegirl.....that's what counts!

Yeah Sue got back a week ago.The time flew by.Had sad news whilst away though.My Mum passed away.Had to make the awful decision to finish our holiday,that is what she would have wanted.

Hi, Lisa. So sorry about your sad news whlist you were away. We had bad news on our second week away( not as tragic as yours). My Grandfather being diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer- sort of dampened our spirits!

i put a few voices to pictures this time! met up and had a lovely evening with terry and helen, also met neil as martin was taking me on a route march!! said hello to amanda, also had a chat with al and jo. but what do you do if you think you recognise someone from the photo? as i have a beautiful pair of feet as my photo (not mine!!!!) no one would know it was me, so martin and i were playing "are they on the forum"!!
we were staying at the fabulous akti for 2 weeks, from 22nd june. we ate in brouklis often, and horizon and then gratsela and the akti. we hired a motorbike and zoomed around and up to afionas a couple of times too. were you there?? did i see you??!!

Thank you again to everyone.The funeral is today so not feeling too good.Once it is over can start concentrating on my grandson and fat(pregnant) daughter.At least there is a new life coming into th family just like it did when Steves mum went.
