Corfu beer microbrewery in Arillas
Title: Re: Corfu_beer
Post by: Oregano on May 04, 2009, 11:29:20 PM
By the sound of it Arillas will need a megabrewery, not a microbrewery!!!

Ah at last Oregano, you understand. Somebody at last. Arillas cannot survive without the likes of me, riggers and erja. The Corfu breweries could never last without us. Am quite sure they saw erja pleading with Dimitris (Jimmy, Dimi) at Rainbow to let her have another. I know - I took the picture.... And me in the Nut. We need a megabrewery. Micro just so isn't the new black... Megabrewery forever....

On another thing altogether, yous might not be so wild, and maybe a bit tame, or dried? The taste of Corfu's wild oregano is delicious, delightful, special, beautiful. Which bit are yous?

lol
Phil

Certainly not tame, or dried!  More like a good Greek Salad - tastefully dressed and well-oiled lol :-)

Corfu beer is listed at http://www.ratebeer.com. I have just joined and rated the Corfu Real Ale Bitter and the Corfu Real Ale Special. It would be good for the brewery to get more reviews so please join and rate the beer.

Thanks Phil, I am sure every little will help this coming year and that goes for all businesses in Arillas.

Vaughan and Angie, I drank the beer at the Horizon, Brouklis and Ammos. Its well worth going up to the brewery to give Spiros and his co workers some support and best of all to have a sample straight from the brewing tanks.

Thanks Terry, 500,000 bottles should be enough, well maybe but it depends on certain people, no names mentioned but it is real beer and I for one look forward to a few more bottles. TTFN Mick.

When I was in Arillas in August I went up to the brewery again (it will be an annual event). I went up with friends Brian and Colin and we had the usual wonderful samples, straight from the brewing tanks. Whilst we were there we were introduced to a gentleman called George who runs a fantastic website about beer. He had driven from Thessalonika just to visit the brewery and he was a real expert on real ale and had links with CAMRA. He even gave us a few momentos.

Anyway here is the website http://www.beer-pedia.com/home.html - you need to choose the English version on the left under Google Translate

There is loads of information on there and one article is about a visit by George to Arillas when the Music Festival was on in July 2009. It is well worth reading and there are some great photos. (we were acually at the festival)

There is a newer article here

http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=el&langpair=el|en&u=http://www.beer-pedia.com/news/news_greece_corfu_real_beer.html&rurl=translate.google.com&twu=1&client=tmpg&usg=ALkJrhiNt_swS9TjqNcXfgmB1E5dFpIJwA

There is lots more on the website but I just had to link to this video which I think Erja will love - George can be seen on the video

http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=el&langpair=el|en&u=http://www.beer-pedia.com/album/album_photo_beer_castle_fest_2009.html&rurl=translate.google.com&twu=1&client=tmpg&usg=ALkJrhhMKZYQ21DRDaNtER5TGssBPhbC8w (http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=el&langpair=el|en&u=http://www.beer-pedia.com/album/album_photo_beer_castle_fest_2009.html&rurl=translate.google.com&twu=1&client=tmpg&usg=ALkJrhhMKZYQ21DRDaNtER5TGssBPhbC8w)

They also have a Channel on YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/user/BeerPedia
