Just returned Sat 4th Oct and have already enquired about returning to this hotel in 2009.
First time for us in a hotel, we usually stay in apartments, but they spoiled us so much and we had such a good time, we will return here definately. Everything about this hotel is perfect, from the rooms, to the service, to the people and the food. We had a room direct facing the malibu at first then they put is in one of the new room a day later. Gorgeous rooms, the beds are so comfortable, very modern rooms, bathroom was lovely. The patio door has a pull down mossie screen. Maid service everyday, the hotel is spotless.
Breakfast was buffet style, with cereal, yoghurt and honey, toast and jam, ham, cheese and boiled egg. Tea or coffee, it was delicious and a lovely start to the day. We had lunch there a few times, (chicken salad to die for) and unfortunately we had an evening meal on the last night, unfortunate because it was so delicious! If we had realised we would have eaten there more often.
The new pool area is amazing, the sunbeds are so comfortable, it looks great and was peaceful to laze around it.
Met some fantastic people whilst we were staying there and we had some great laughs. Baldy Barry you would have been in your element! haha.
We werent leaving until 11.15pm and for a small charge we could keep the room until we left, which was great.
Lots of hugs all around as we left and promises to "see you next year".

Special thank you to Kostas, Spiros, Stamatis and Monica for being such fantastic hosts. They made us feel so welcome, like we had stayed there forever.

I noticed you moved rooms is that because there was too much noise from the Malibu bar??? or was it just a better room to move to.

sounds great we have booked for the akti next year will be are first time in a hotel as we normally stay in apartments so i'm really looking forward to it now after reading your comments

Good choice PaulnGina you will love it.
Sunshine, they just wanted us to try the new rooms and one became available.
Its a fantastic hotel.

Can't believe you are back already Sharon....you are definitely a regular now. I remember last year when you were so nervous about going. Hope to meet you sometime x

even though this year we stayed above alex,s supermarket,which was nice ,we spent most days and nites at the akti,,and loved it spiro/monica .kostas ,stamatis ,,,all great people and a good laugh....glad you had a good time ,,,,yammas

Hi kevin. We also stayed at Alex`s one year, and it was good. Very laid back. Agree with you about the Akti, very nice there.

hi the akti was the best ever, great great, great, the whole family were brill and the hotel was fab.. going back next year to arillas, staying at the kaloudis though, flights were cheaper, will be eating the great food and drinking lovely wine with monica and spiros i hope. karen

I know that Spiros and Monica find the time to view the Forum when the season starts to wind down.
I have told them about the good reports and be assured they will be reading all these posts very soon,
A very good feather in their cap and a big " pat on the back" for all the effort they have put in this, and previous seasons.

It just goes to show - after all our time in Arillas there are still so many places and people for us to go and see. We have spent an hour in Akti so far (and were welcomed like neighbours) and discovered that he is Olga's nephew. We were staying at Olga's Elena Stella.
Akti is a great place to stay, and the new additions this year are superb. We just wish we could stay EVERYWHERE.

we stayed at the akti in june, martin wasn't keen, he likes to do self catering (well he would, it's me that does the catering!!) he is now a convert, we will be back in june, just as soon as he can sort the time off work!!
kostas, spiros, monika, the food, the fabulously comfortable rooms, the pool.............the list is endless, but don't tell too many people, we might not be able to get in!!!!!

Haven't heard from you in a wee while. I didn't realise that's where you stayed in June?
Christian & I stayed there in Sept 07 & really enjoyed it - although that was before the new pool.
I've heard SO many people raving about it on the Forum this year, it's certainly somewhere we would consider staying at again.

After our disasterous stay at the AB.......not going there in this message :-) we were moved to the Akti. It was like walking into a hotel run by your best friends, who also wrote the good hotel guide and could give Gordon Ramsay a run for his money with the food. Faultless hotel, staff...everything. If you have booked the Akti for 2009, then you are lucky people indeed.

Lucky you Sharon. Like many others we have never done the hotel stay in Greece before. It was a decision for us between the Akti and the AB last summer and we chose the AB because it was SC and was rated higher with TC. Carolyns parents chose the Akti because the AB was full and said it was great. We arrived a few weeks later and went to the AB. After our terrible time at the AB, TC moved us to the Akti and the whole family made us so welcome from second one and for the whole week we had the pleasure of being there. Monika made us pack lunch sanwiches the day we hired a boat and the rooms were wonderful. If you forgot (drunk) to pay your bar bill at 2am, it was no trouble, though best pay it in the morning coz if you went back down you were trapped for another drink :-) Such utterly delightful people and they all work so hard. Its Crete for us in 2009, but our next visit to Arillas will be the Akti, availability permitting.
