Post by: riggers on September 25, 2008, 11:52:15 PM
What a night. Missed the friday one, but what a Saturday night. It was absolutely heaving with people, must have come from everywhere. You bought a carafe for 5 euro and drink drink drink. There was a very large man in the VAT and sweat was pouring out of him, arghhhh yammas says pg32 (paul and Dell). Kebabs ,mythos, everything. Met  Phil and Jen, Kev and Bev again (lovely peeps). That wine give me bad head for days  :) . Anyone know where i can get some. :) . Must try to get to this next year, not to be missed. Greeek Dancing and Music was Superb.

It was good wasnt it Riggers!  We had a great time and loved especially the last night with all the local people, young and old dancing... including me and Mike and even Phil and Jen got up and smooched on the dance floor!!!

the band played for over 5 hours non stop!  That wouldnt happen in the UK... 45 minutes and they have a break... it was great to see the teenagers all joining in too.

I have got some photos so will post some when I get some time (once the washings on).

Sue

What do you mean "even" Phil and Jen got up and danced? From what I've heard they've been strutting their stuff most nights in Arillas.....

I agree BG she is a very pretty woman. Stunning. Just like all the Greek wives we have met. Does Arillas have a special place in the world with good looking women? Take Dimitris's Litsa for example. She is a stunner!

I am far too old and well and truly spoken for to be the "dirty old man" who lusts after them. But I can still appreciate the real beauty of these women. I offer no threat, but want to spend time with them nattering in the bar. Perhaps that is why grandma at Raibow went out of her way to say kalimera to me???????

I love to look at pretty women - Jen can look at pretty men too. It is all part of life. That is another thing you can do in Arillas...

We were at the festival in Sep 2005 and have to agree it is a fab night out. It is very colourful and the dancers were great. Plenty of wine flowing_ a good night was had by all.
Locals and foreigners mixing- all Corfiots for a weekend. Brilliant.
   Best Wishes   Paul D

That was me Tony until this year. I gave up teaching in July, and for our wedding anniversary we spent September in Arillas rather than jumping through hoops for OFSTED.  Forget the gold, the jewellery. Have a month in Arillas.

The wine festival is a real highlight of Arillas' year. It is such a joyous and happy event, and will always be remembered by anyone who takes part. Thank heaven we were two of them this time. "Phil. Don't worry. You're amongst friends...." Dimitris was commenting on my state of indbreation. I was SOBER I tell you...

If you can be there for next year's festival just BE THERE!

Phil

Know all about that Tony. A grand down the drain has been our experience forever. Stinks really.

We might see you though. If it all works out we will be there for 6 months from late June or early July.
