Title: Bank Cards
Post by: tubedude on May 12, 2008, 11:41:43 PM
If you guys are planning to use the ATM's in Corfu, and Arillas, please advise your banks that you are going, we found out that some banks wont authorise any transactions in Arillas ? Corfu in case they are a coppiied card.  Be safe speak to your bank, it takes about 15 minutes for them to make your card work in Arillas and save you loads of trouble and expensive calls home!

Have a good trip  -we just did

I always call Halifax before I go away, so that they know it is me cavorting around Europe rather than my card in wrong hands :)

Yes, there was a special on watchdog about the very same thing.  I will let mine know although what they were saying on the programme is that the decision is usually made by computer so there is often little point as it would still get stopped regardless. Its all very well being cautious but I feel sorry for any people who dont have any back-up.  I would advise people to take another card just incase.
