In a recent interview, General Norman Schwartzkopf was asked if he didn't think there was room for forgiveness toward the people who have harbored and abetted the terrorists who perpetrated the 9/11 attacks on America.

His answer was classic Schwartrzkopf. He said,

"I believe that forgiving them is God's function. Our job is to arrange the meeting."

What do you think Barry?

I'd forgotten about this thread! I'll share one I heard today about the "Hand of Knowledge and the Seat of Learning"
My brother-in-law said to his young son "I'll use my hand of knowledge on your seat of learning" My seat of learning was often sore as a child

I came across this quote yesterday [by W.Somerset.Maugham 1874-1965. British novelist & playright] & thought I would share it with all you Arillas Addicts.

"Sometimes a man hits upon a place to which he mysteriously feels that he belongs"

A feeling many of us have when we arrive at Arillas, I think.

Here's a word from that great Greekophile Lord Byron in a letter to E.J.Trelawney dated 15 june 1823:- "I am determined to go to Greece: it is the only place I was ever contented in"

You will Ivan, and so will I. Have been contented just about anywhere, but never so much as when I am on the beach in Arillas

Or maybe I should have added "yet again!" I will indeed go again Phil, in September, if I'm spared,
