Title: Curses to the Met Office! Curses!
Post by: smoosh on August 29, 2007, 11:59:56 AM
Well - there is likely to be "some rain" and "chance of thunderstorms" in Corfu for the first 3 days of our holiday!  Oh no!  I hope it won't be ruined...  :(

When do you go Smoosh?

I have tried to see what the weather will be like when we arrive on the 3rd but cant seem to get a forecast that far ahead.

We go on Friday.  That forecast is up to Monday, which I believe will be the day you arrive!  The forecast only goes that far at the moment, I'll check again tomorrow.

I'll be so annoyed if it rains the whole time!

That will be nice then! I fancy doing that as well as others so we are just going to check out what trips we fancy. Albania is another we may go on. How long are you in Arillas for?

Only a week - we'll probably go to Aqualand as well.  My other half didn't fancy Albania but I wouldn't have minded going.

My other half and her sister are dying to go but i read on here somewhere that you get followed around by kids asking for money and wanting you to buy stuff and that would really annoy me!! Still probably go though. We are there for 2 weeks in a villa cant wait to get there now!

Dont take too much notice of the weather forecasts, it was predicting rain when we went in May and it was bloomin hot all week!!

The weather forecast is always for Corfu Town anyway and the weather in Arillas is always a bit different, you are an hour away from Corfu Town and you might not think it makes much of a difference but it does.

In May it was bucketing down in Corfu Town, the streets were flooding etc and in Arillas it was about 38-40 degrees!

I reckon you will have glorious sunshine all week, if it does rain its normally a quick shower and then its sunshine time again, so fear not, your holiday wont be ruined!!

Thanks everyone - you have put my mind at ease!

If it bucketed down on my once annual week in the sun I'd be hopping mad!

Be reassured - it poured down whilst we were there a couple of weeks ago, we could see the rain coming so we went for lunch, had a couple of drinks by which time the rain & gone  it was just as hot as before. My advice, chill & have a couple of drinks as the rainclouds pass.

It didn't rain in Kavadaddes 2 weeks ago. Must be a conspiracy against our garden.

Must admit, the day it rained we had walked to san stefanos so sure if it rained on arillas. The rain appeared to be heading up towards Sidari.

Let Sidari have any rain next week.

We're bringing the Sussex sunshine to Arillas.

It'll probably rain when we go to Saranda in Albania though?

I'll be the "Wally with the brolly"  ;-)

P.S. Weatheronline had a GSM link for Mobile phones.

http://wap.weatheronline.co.uk

But they must've changed the format, my old WAP phone doesn't like it anymore. :-(
