Hello, smiffy,
The Bardis sun Hotel is now available only trough scandinavian tour Operators.
the owners can not accommodate anyone independently in the hotel but only if you book a package from these countries ,
The operator is called startour (http://startour)http://www.startour.dk/Resorts/travel.aspx?id=16699&cat=2|163&entry=29&dest=26&city=1200&type=cd&hotel=5086

Regards,

Dimitris

We spoke to Dorita at the Bardis Sun Hotel and she told us that they would be going back to Thomson next year. We have looked on the web site but so far can't find anything.

hello, sorry, maybe an old topic but as far as I understand from Bardis Studios, the hotel will be following them in the near future to CorfuEscape.  Maybe someone from CE could confirm this?

I know they read these posts at the bardis studios, so can you let us know if it is true about the hotel. Or let someone know and they can then put a post on.We have had many holidays at the Bardis Hotel and would love to go back and see everyone again.

The Bardis sun hotel is back with Thomson. We looked at it but the price put us off.

i looked at price as well, thomson are out pricing it. i compared the price with what am paying at the kaloudous flying out 5th october around £300 difference for the same 2 weeks. making it 840 for 2 weeks not including flight meals or pre booked seats. how can thomson warrent charging this amout especially as it is coming to the end of the season. alex

These were my thoughts exactly, my first trip to Arillas was to The Bardis Hotel, we got it cheap on the internet, i thing it was just under £200 each for the week B&B, i looked on Thomsons and was shocked at how much theyre charging, nothing below £305 even at the start of the season or the end, its ridiculos that theyre charging these prices, especially when you think that we got a weeks holiday for 2 staying at The Bardis appts for £378 through nancy at Corfuescape, its a whole big difference in price, i know which one id rather pay!!

Dont get me wrong, the hotel is a lovely place to stay, didnt intend for my post to sound like i was being horrible about the hotel, just Thomsons and how much theyre charging!

Its a lovely hotel with a lovely pool, if youve got the money go for it, just rather spend money on going out and sampling the restaurants and having drinkies!

exactly my view, i have stayed there every year since 2000 and sometimes twice, last year was the first time i couldnt get in, even through i enjoy staying there it doesnt warrent those prices. the people i feel for is the bardis family they are the only ones going to get hurt by thomson doing this. alex

isn't it a shame hoteliers can't deal direct with us british holiday makers. they would make alot more money and we would save , instead fat cats taking lions share as always

just had a look at thomsons site for two weeks at the end of september two people £868 b&b at Bardis Sun or at the kaloudis two weeks two people £548 sc thats £320 for breakfasts? one word ripoff (thats flying from norwich)

Post by: lincolnlass on February 21, 2007, 06:08:29 PM
exactly trouble is locals dont receive anything like that amount its terrible how rip people off when work all year for hols

Post by: Smiffypink on February 21, 2007, 06:32:28 PM
Exactly, the difference is shocking isnt it!!

They should be ashamed of theirselves, because as has been said, its Dorita and her family that lose out because they dont get hardly any of all that money!

i totally agree with that statement, as im sure alot of people do. i havn't had pleasure of staying there myself but alex adores it, thomson are charging far too high a price and will only end up empty, as who would spend at least 300 pounds extra.its day light robbery and locals suffer also.

i think eventually thomson will do the dirty and drop bardis completely, it didnt work with the people they put in last year, as they were not eating in the traverners, they sprung this ion them last year as previous posts have said. would be better if bardis went with another tour operater. alex

Or maybe if someone has an email address for Thomsons, we could email them a link to this thread, then they can see the holidaymakers views and opinions??  You never know, it might work!

good idea smiffy, trouble is i have emailed them before when they dropped the bardis last year, never even received an acknoledgement. think thomson completely changed when became the world of tui. alex

One thing I noticed from last July, we spent the day by the pool and we were the only English tourists there.  Are they catering for French and German people?  Maybe they don't pay as much?  Or maybe they pay more in general to stay at any hotel so don't notice the difference (am not implying that they are stupid in anyway!)  We had lovely food there and it is lovely and clean but still not worth paying all that money to stay there.

Last year The bardis Hotel was with a swedish tour company if i remember correctly, they didnt have any English guests, only English people who went there for the day, that obviously didnt work out cos now theyre back with Thomsons.

I shall be using the pool when i go in May without a doubt because i do like it, but unfortunately i wont pay the prices to stay there!

i totally agree with you, they were (excuse spelling)scandinavians, they use to stay in there rooms at night and not go to any of traverners, they use to by food from the shop and eat in there rooms. dorita was telling me that they wasnt very friendly. when i was there seeing dorita they copletely ignored her daughter when she was playing near them she only tried to say hello, and she is such a sweetie. alex

Really, thats terrible, she is a little darling, well she was little when i was last there in 2005, shes probably grown quite alot now!

Why would you go on holiday and then not go out of an evening, very strange, you go on holiday to eat out and enjoy yourselves, wouldnt like to stay in every night on holiday, too many places to go and cocktails to be drunk :-D !!

very true smiffy and the money i am saving can be used to eat and drink to my hearts content. i loved staying there, but at the end of the day i will try and save money and go for the cheaper option. alex

We found the guests a bit unfriendly too, a smile's a smile in any language in my book but they seemed to want to be left alone!  We only went there once because it did make you feel a bit uncomfortable!  Never mind there's so many other lovely friendly places to go - might be better this year so may take a little peep and see before settling down for the day!  Just noticed I've got my gold medal - catching you up Smiffy!

Well done on the Gold medal, come on and catch me haha!!

Just got back from Arilas and noticed that  there is a notice for rooms to let, so for those who enjoyed the Bardis Hotel  why not book your holiday direct with Aris or Dorita

Just returned from this hotel. It is pretty basic but clean, nice pool, good location and the family are very friendly. Highly recommended, and there are still rooms to let too.
