Title: Brouklis Apartments
Post by: Stuart on May 29, 2006, 10:37:10 PM
We arrived home a few hours ago and the horrible thing is that everything is starting to feel like a dream already.  So, before all the happy memories disappear, we thought we'd give our review of the where we stayed - the Brouklis Apartments.

Arillas was everything you all said it was but we must say that the food and hospitality of Dimitri and his team at the Brouklis were pretty outstanding.

When we arrived, he said the rooms were basic but he goes out of his way to make sure you don't want for anything, even providing a few essentials to make you feel at home. The rooms are cleaned almost every other day and you also get clean towels and linens at the same time.

Even though the rooms are above the taverna there was very little in the way of noise and we came home feeling very rested.

We did try a couple of the other places for breakfast but must admit to eating at the Brouklis every evening - we can't recommend the stuffed pork roll highly enough.

We even received a welcome home e-mail from him when we got back which says it all really!

We would definitely give the Brouklis 5 Stars!!   :D

Thank you Dimitri for making sure we had such a good time.

Stuart and Alison

Driving over !
What a fabulous idea !! If I wasn't so restricted with time off Work I'd love to do that :)

We've had Greek friends drive over from Corfu to stay with us and it only took them 2 days - and that was in a banged up Citroen !

Yes me too have stayed at Brouklis several times before and would certainly not hesitate in going back.  Dimitris and family are extremely hospitable people.  The location of the accommodation/taverna are second to none - within easy access to everything and central to the village.  In the taverna - the superb food, friendly staff and friendly banter with fellow guests do make it extremely difficult to go venture elsewhere.

Don't change Brouklis - everyone give it a whirl!

you're right, a fan isn't the same as air-con - much cheaper, and more environmentally friendly.

Yes, but with no carbon emissions (CFC's/HFC's) damaging the ozone.

Having just spent two week in Brouklis I don't know where to start from because it was just such a smooth and nice stay. The rooms were nice and there are a mosquito nets in all the windows (bar the kitchen one) and one to go over the balcony door so that we were able to sleep with them open. Also, there were nets hanging from the ceiling over the beds so the sleep was assured with no added paranoia of that mozzie high pitched noise. The fridge kept the beers really cold and the kitchen was a nice place to have breakfast. And it was nice to watch the village go by at the balcony. Anything we needed or wanted was just a a request away from our hosts.

I can sincerely recommend a stay in the Brouklis :)
