Title: September weather
Post by: ness44 on March 23, 2015, 07:06:03 PM
Hi all

We are going 21st August-4th September. We normally go end of july beginning august but wondered if the weather in the evening is much different? Will it be any cooler or still really warm and i wont need a cardigan? Thanks

It should still be pleasantly warm, although you never can be sure, so be prepared.  September also often sees spectacular thunder storms.

We went in September 2013 and had gorgeous weather. Cooler and darker in the evenings but sea lovely and warm.

Not really cool just need a cardigan or jumper once it gets to about 9 am and probably for men long trousers instead of shorts in the evening. The good thing was not as many mozzies about. Obviously nothing is guaranteed in terms of weather at any time of the year. We went the  last week in September and were very presently surprised. We were on the beach every day and swimming in the sea - it was about 24/25 degrees in the day. I think as you are going beginning of September the likelihood is that you will have good weather. Might have odd thunder storm but that can happen any time of year - we had one last July but only lasted a couple of hours one evening. It was weird watching the sunset early evening rather than later so used to have a drink watching the sunset and then go out for a meal so it is a bit of pain that you are sat at sea front tavernas in the dark but hey ho - it was still great being there.

soniaP we had a couple of thunderstorms last july too. we might have even been there the same time. It was weird how one minute everything was black and then the sun came out and it was boiling.I hope the evenings are warm. We usually go July/August but couldnt get booked for then.

Ness you are going a lot earlier in September than we went and it was still warm enough to sit on the balcony and play cards and have a drink at 11/12 at night - like I said just needed an extra layer on.

we always go in Sept, sea is really warm, little cooler at night, only a cardi or sweater needed when it get late, not too busy in Sept either, make it nice and relaxing.

Hi Vanessa, hope you're all well. We won't be seeing you this year as we're going earlier than usual (end of June). But may squeeze in an extra week late September.
Have a good holiday.

Barry and Christine
