Title: Weight allowance
Post by: turkeyfoot on November 14, 2014, 01:57:44 PM
Hi
Whatever company you fly with they all have case weight limits. This year we used   Boots (the chemist) pre order service and collected  our toiletries  at the airport.
Order on line, nominate your pick up location, and it is ready and waiting for collection.
You get all the special offers on line, at High Street prices.
As the order is collected on the ''air side'' there is no security concerns on liquids and volume etc.
Our toiletries weighed in at 3 kilo, so a considerable saving on case weight.
When you could also pay up to £20 to purchase an additional 5kilo of luggage allowance, quite a financial saving as well.

I had heard of this a while ago and really don't know why I haven't done it. I might have had concerns that my order wouldn't be waiting for me. Taking, as I do, huge bottles of after sun, shampoo, hairspray etc - sometimes I go away for 3 weeks and need the larger bottles - but after having been stung for the umpteenth time with excess baggage weight this year, I'll definitely do it next year. If my order isn't there I can just buy it airside! Why didn't I think of that before!

Never heard of it but it sounds a wonderful idea. I usually travel just with hand luggage so may be useful next year for me.

What a good thing to have this kind of internet service. I have been buying my toiletries to my hand luggage for years but never thought I can pre order it so thank you for sharing Geoff :)

Then again browsing for stuff is a lovely way of spending time at the airport 8)

We have never been let down by them Cypress. We picked up LOADS of specialist baby milk which must have weighed at least 5 kilos when we went away last year .
