Hi have just joined the Arillas forum so all this is a bit new to me.
My wife and myself are going to Arillas in june for our silver wedding anniversary and are staying at the marvel hotel
Can any one tell me what it is like and where to go for a romantic meal
Also what is the weather like at that time of year
The Marvel is a very nice hotel, about 500mtrs to beach. Nice bar nice people. Places to eat opposite Marvel, Captain`s. Down by the beach Hotel Marina,Costa. The Sea Breeze. Hope you enjoy Arillas, I`m sure you will. We`ll be there in May. 5th time. You`ll have a gr8 time. Happy hols. Linda & Mal.
Hi Russsell, Stayed at the Hotel Marvel last Oct'. The rooms are basic but adequate with a small fridge. The Pool and bar area are great and inviting, if a little overlooked from the road. Your Hosts, two brothers, who I understand own the Hotel, are rather surly. The Breakfast? Forget the breakfast, stroll to the sea front (10 to 15 minutes) turn right to "Helens" where George will serve you well, whilst watching the surf on the beach, wonderful.
A romantic meal? Spoilt for choice. I would recommend the Thalasa, on the sea front, for your big night, a little expensive, but well worth it. The Brouklis Taverna, near the Marvel Hotel is also excellent but slightly less romantic. Try also the small unnamed Taverna opposite the Marvel for a lovely meal, service with a smile from the friendliest of staff.
I am not at all informed about the likely weather in June. So can't make any comment. I am , however, sure about Arillas, you will love it. We shall be returning again in July. Can't wait.
Welcome to the Forum
I hope you enjoy Arillas as much as we all do :)
For a romantic meal I would definitely take your wife to Thalassa on the sea front - but you must definitely book a table as it gets busy and as it is a special occasion its a must - and then after dinner you can sit in an easy chair with just a candle for light and look out to sea sipping cocktails.
Have a great holiday
Tracey :) :)
Hi Russell
Romantic Meal. - It just has to be "Costas on the Beach" Get a candle lit table just inside, or just outside in the corner. Costa will reserve one for you. A little dim lighting, a good selection of food, Just a twinge more expensive but "Hey" isn't she worth it? Costa loves his romantic music which plays away quietly in the background. -- And the scene is set.
Best Wishes
Negg
hi russell,we have been going to arillas for years and this year we are taking the plunge and giong to live there, the weather in june is really lovely not to hot but lots of hours of arillas sunshine, but if you go on to the arillas webcam it will tell you what the weather is like all year round.we think the thalassa is the best place to go for aromantic meal the food is wonderful and yanni and his girlfriend are really lovely people, and his momma does all the cooking so it is really good a little more expensive but really is worth it and the scenery is breathtaking, but also try the broukalis next door to whispers the food is without doubt some of the best in arillas and the owner dimitris is a real character, but you will have awonderful time anyway, regards shirley&ian abrams.
Hi everyone a big THANK YOU to all who replied to my question on where to eat out when we are in arillas.
It looks like we will be spoilt for choice but no doubt my wife will have the last word on it.
We are both looking forward to a well earnt break and will be there the 1st 2weeks in June so if you are there at the same time please say hello I will be the one with the ball and chain.
found the marvel to be very basic, carpets in the rooms ? spiros the barman is ok when you get talking, his brother costos might throw ur piece of 8mm warm bread (breakfast) lol on ur table and slam your drink down, and be very grumpy lol, you can watch whatever you want on the tv, as long as its football !.Oh and non stayers to the hotel might call in for a drink and then mouth off. other than that, its ok. you will be ok as long as you eat there and spend plenty on drinks, they should be ok then lol
We have never stayed at the Marvel but I would be very surprised if there was carpet in the rooms. We have never had carpet in any greek or med. accommodation, most accommodation is basic. Not very practical when coming in off the beach.
Sorry you had a rotten time there though, perhaps Costas was having a bad day. I know others have enjoyed it there.
russel dont be put off a hol is wot you make of it people in arillas are nice to all me and the wife found yammas
There are Carpets in the rooms.....
we had carpets in tunisia in may haha
