Title: corfu bitter beer
Post by: jeffers on April 16, 2014, 10:18:59 AM
Good morning everyone , could anyone tell me what month does the corfu bitter come out . we had some last year and it  was lovely , but thought it was only made for a few months because of the heat in summer time made the beer go off . hopefully it will still be in the bars this year when we come over.   jeffers

We visit in May and August usually. The Corfu bitter has always been there even when we have been in October.

To misquote 2 lovely ladies "I concur!" Jen had one this 8th April and has had one on 4th November before now. Brouklis does it, and Kaloudis for certain, but I think it is available far more widely than that.

The bitter is available all year and can even be bought in Corfu Town. Its the barley wine (Ionian Epos) that's only available in the winter. I could murder a a Royal Ionian Gold right now. Sigh

I hate beer....can't even drink shandy, it all just tastes horrible.
The funny thing is....if Bill is trying a new real ale, if I have a sip I can usually tell him the tasting notes.

Think I must have a delicate palate......it's the only thing delicate about me :D :D

Dylan

So you said "Tart-ta" to Bakewell and went home, then?

On a more serious note. How is that Corfu Beer, that is only in Weatherspoons (UK) I think, going down?
Can't remember the name of it but we cannot get it here.

Eggy, it is all gone. Coffee Porter and it was superb. I even managed a glass or three in Street, Somerset last summer. It nearly won the Wetherspoons competition, but the vote-rigging that happened on the last night left it No 2. Klaudio should be incredibly proud of it, but sadly does not appear in this year's Wetherspoon Beer Festival. Perhaps because he is just too good?

Think that he may be too busy brewing for the October festive in Arillas. As it is all about the UK this year.....just wish it was possible for Bill and I to go, but the beginning of October is a no no for us.

The Ouzo is all yours Val. I once had a very rough night (and day) thanks to an Ouzo or two - haven't touched it since! lol
