Hi,
I've been lurking for a while and just generally enjoying the topics on here and I couldn't see a newbie post anywhere so hopefully i'm on the right page.
Well I'm Macca and I live on the Isle of Wight and we have our first trip booked to Arillas for the last week in Aug/1st week in Sept 2014.
Have spent a couple of holidays in Sidari and will be staying in Peroulades in May but so looking forward to visiting Arillas for the first time and experiencing what seems to be a special place.
Anyway enough of the waffle...off to batten down the hatches as the storm of the decade approaches.
You will have a fantastic time in Arillas. Where are you staying ? If you are still there on 6th September you will get to see the Wine Festival I think.

Hello Macca from forum blatherskite, as christened by Eileen (Villa Linakis, but so much more than a villa owner.)
This can be a tense forum, everybody so strung up on their individual, and not always the same love of Arillas, but boy has it introduced me to many friends who wouldn't even know who I was when Jen and me are wobbling our way around Arillas.
The webcam is a fabulous feature that has us all drooling and dreaming of being the other side of the camera, all year long.
Welcome to our world. With what you say, I am certain that you will fit in.....
Phil
Thanks for the welcome.....funny enough I just mentioned the wine festival to my good lady....which went down well as will do the vino.
Only found out about Arillas via the Tripadvisor Sidari forum after asking for any recommendations on a chilled out location in the NW...and then I came across this wonderful forum....
We are staying at the Hotel Marina in one of the two bed apartments...looks amazing and defo enough going on for my 21 & 17 year old.... as well as two sprightly 40 somethings
Hi Macca and welcome to the forum and Arillas from me...the auld blatherskite's friend.
We often go up to Peroulades to the traditional and well priced Yiannis, also Bikolis...more expensive but fabulous food, home made bread to die for! Might bump into you there in May :-)
The Marina is a great place to stay you will love it.
Just a word about Isle of Wight. As you get off the ferry, turn your life back 50 years. I adore being there looking at the Needles (Gravia in Arillas) and so many comparisons. Life in Arillas is so like it is there.
Well Arillas has much in common with Macca, and his family's home, just like Jen and mine. A new Arilliac has been born.
Phil
Iahhh....bikolis ate there 3 times on our last visit in August...amazing home made breads...and just a wee stagger from the Corfu Andromeda where we were staying.
Macca
I spent 3 summers in the Isle of Wight when I was much younger.Had a great time and it still holds a fond place in my heart.Worked in hotel in Shanklin.
As for Arillas you will love it.Unless IOW has changed it has the same laid back and relaxed feel.We are there at the same time as you but in Kaloudis.
However Marina is also great.
Perhaps we will meet up.
Just be assured you will love it and I suspect join us regulars!
Oliver.
Hello!
A warm welcome going out to you Macca
You're so gonna love it!
Bells xx
Welcome, Macca and family. You are all going to enjoy Arillas so much, as everyone has said.....if there's anything you want to know....just ask.

QuoteCorfu Andromeda where we were staying.
For most of us we have an Andromeda. Which one was yours?
Phil
Welcome to the forum Macca. You will love Arillas.
Can I just ask something please? Your name isn't Paul, is it, and you play a bass guitar left handed? :-)
welcome Macca
my 1st visit to corfu was Sidari - which has changed a bit since my 1st visit !!
we always pop over there for a visit when we are in Arillas - its about 18 euro in a taxi.
you wont go wrong at the Marina - a lovely family and excellent food and service
all the best

Phew where have the last 9 months gone, slight change to our plans as we now fly out on the 23rd of August for a fortnight and no kids...have had a couple of separate 1 week breaks in Corfu already this year and got to see the fire flies, Peroulades and Acharavi...but still so looking forward to our first holiday in Arillas and experiencing it's unique and obviously very hospitable ambience...so 34 sleeps and counting
Welcome and hope your Arillas is as good for you as it is us..
Ironically, last year we had friends staying in Sidari, so we spent 24 hours with them, then they traded and stayed with us for 24 hours. We all agreed, Arillas was by far the better place to be, both day and night.
