Title: Evening Weather?
Post by: Northerndave on August 21, 2013, 11:25:41 PM
Hello, countdown well and truly on, less than a fortnight to go (woohoo). Can anyone advise on the evening temps normally expected in the first 2 weeks of Sept ? (ie will Shorts/Polo be fine?), or does it get 'nippy' once the sun goes down?

Thanks in advance, Dave.

It is most likely that you will be too hot in your skin.... By all means have something warmer in your luggage, but chances are it will stay there. There can be summer storms, but they pass quickly and it is then like midsummer again.

we went first 2 weeks in sept a couple of years ago & it poured down for the first 2 days & was only 19 degrees in the daytime!. Col had to buy a jumper from Yiotas! & we bought rain ponchos! The rest of the hol was fab though I needed a cardi in the evenings.
I think the rain & cool temps were an exception though!

Thanks Phil and Karen, I'm a terrible packer, always pack far too much, for every eventuality, so will probably bring jeans and a hoodie in case we get one cool night and leave them folded up if I don't need them. :)

Jeans & a hoodie Dave?... you're going to Arillas not Blackpool lol :p

I cannot imagine needing such heavy/thick clothes.
I know i've just been mid-august, and it was hot 24/7 (roasting during the day) but i can't imagine there being such a big change in just a month.. just pack a thicker t-shirt instead lol

In my defence, I have to point out that they are designer jeans and an understated hoodie, before the inabitants of Arillas start battening down the hatches thinking a yob is due to descend - lol

I suppose this also means I can't bring my 'Kiss Me Quick, Squeeze Me Slow' Hat or oversized Candy Floss with me either??  ;)

Shorts and Tees it is then!

Please no Dave!  That's what I love about Arillas - you don't feel like you are in the UK like you do with some Greek resorts, with Irish pubs and "Sky football here" etc. etc.  But I think there is Sky in The Nut for events but the advertising isn't "in your face".  I feel like I am in a Greek village - perfect - 2 weeks tomorrow we're on our way - get ready Arillas - here we come!!  I think that is now 14 more sleeps! (if I sleep at all last night as our flight is 5.50 am!).

Went in September last year. Rained on penultimate night and last afternoon but the evening temperature was fine. No problem with shorts and T-shirt

I think it was June 2005 that the days were beautiful but the evenings were so cold put a patio heater on for us. June
