Title: The path from Vavilas to Brouklis
Post by: Chris & Mark's mum on June 27, 2013, 10:16:01 AM
Hey there! I am sitting on Arillas beach composing this email!
We tried to get to the Brouklis from Vavalis a few days ago using the new path but we never made it all the way across but ended up at the front near the horizon!
Is it ok to walk by the side of the big greenhouse to Brouklis......dont want to trespass!
Will be dining at Brouklis tomorrow evening!
Anyone walking near Gratzella today pleae say hi....we are sitting on the end beds nearest the boats and flag
please excuse spelling mistakes as I am typing this on a kindle

We used the path last year & got right through, you definately need a torch though!

The path is marked by Red Arrows from both sides. Try going the opposite way,  but I think it comes out a bit further up from Brouklis......although I am not too sure having not tried it yet.

The path crosses the stream that runs down to the sea
you have to cross the stream via a man made bridge (The Plank)
the path then runs along side the field just below the Marvel

Walking the plank

Good morning Arillas!

Thank you......definitely saw no arrows to cross to the brouklis side.  might risk walking down the side of the greenhouses as we can see the road.

Will not be returning on that path in the dark......frightemed of being attacked by lions and tigers....and its far too dangerius crossing that stream after drinking Dimitris's wine......  ok......Maybe I am being a bit dramatic!

Thank you Justl@@kin!  I see where I went wrong!  After going in front of Giannis's apartments, we crossed the stream and turned left (we should have gone right and that would have brought us out just above Brouklis!)  Better luck next year!

Thanks for the map link. Went for a walk on it to Kavadades, got lost a few times, did the trail, then looked at my watch - an hour had passed. Oops. Did enjoy it though. x

Should maybe mention the walk was in my imagination, aided by the map. Can't wait to do it for real again in September. 7 weeks to go.  Mo x

We took the track back from vavilas last year in a storm with a toddler(No buggy) and a great grandparent. It was during the day though. Plank gets slippery but with care is passable. I would use it at night but with a torch.

Just seen this info and will try it next year when we walk from Makris. Walking back in the dark and after beer and wine should be interesting !!!!
