I heard about this from a Brit who lives in Arillas.
Arillas Car Hire (by the hotel) will hire you a car for the day at 20 euro, delivered to the airport. He will then drive you to Arillas, or you can drive yourself.
The only extra is 15 euro for fuel.
You can do the same in reverse.
Sounds like a bargain.
Geoff
oooh sounds a good saving there. Does he/she have to be in the car with you?
Still 70 euro for return. Think a taxi would be better they are bigger cars.
Think I would prefer to pay the extra, what if your car turns out to be tiny?

San Stefano Car Hire will do the same if the car hire is for a week or more they will deliver the car to the airport and hand it over to you personaly. You just leave the car in the airport carpark when you leave. The charge varies according to the vehicle you want, but there is no extra charge for the airport delivery.
More info / booking can be done through Noula at San Stefano Travel.
I think the idea is that the driver returns to Arillas with you. You get a cheap ''taxi'' and the hire company gets a days hire for a single trip.
i love coming out of arrivals and seeing my name on a board ,with the taxi driver,i know im on my way home ,,yammas

I concur Kev matey *deep sigh* :)
This sounds like a great idea, you could get a cheap driving lesson on Greek roads whilst getting to Arillas.
I agree about the great feeling when you you see the sign in the airport with your name for the taxi. The feeling of relaxation is just the best.
Not sure about getting a Greek lesson on driving on local roads.Too scary!
Happy to leave that to the fantastic taxi drivers!
All this is already making me look forward to next August 23rd when we will once again return to our haven of relaxation amongst friends!
Oliver.
on leaving the airport, i love the moment when we drive past the sea in Corfu and i also let out a deep sigh (!) of excitement and when I see the signpost for Villa Linakis I know I havee arrived!!! :-) :-)
I get so excited seeing Tasos (from Anna's Studios) waiting for us at the airport. As we approach Skripero we have a competition as to what colour the traffic light will be!!!! Then I catch a glimpse of Gravia and like you Jo, I know when I see the Villa Linakis sign and that it won't be long until I am in my favourite place.
Roll on June 17th 2013
diane your fave place in the akti with good freinds ,,yammas
Hi Kev, will we see you in the Akti in June too?
thats a date ,,yammas,xx
I'm sure this has been asked many times but I will ask again. Does anyone know approx the taxi price from airport to Arillas.
We arrive around 9pm and don't fancy the long trip on coach. I have mobility problems and it would be so much easier to just get a taxi from outside the airport.
Correct me if I am wrong but you don't need to book do you. I have seen them lined up outside the airport.
We have transfers with package holiday but as long as we let the rep know we are going by taxi I would think this would be ok ?
Thanks for any advice
Hi Springs65, generally you are looking at around 55 Euro's (each way) but these are pre-booked ones from resort. The ones at the airport would charge considerably more I would imagine.
Corfu Holiday Taxi are based in Kavadades and are the local company we always use due to their reliability. I'm sure most forum members will be familiar with them too.
They have just launched a website where you can book direct.... http://www.corfuholidaytaxi.com/
We did the same as you last year and sent email to Thomsons to explain what we were doing to save having to sort it at airport. We used San Stefano Travel both holidays for a taxi booked by email with no problem. Jenny
Thanks folks for the advice. Eileen thanks for the link I think we will email them to get a price and book them. Seems the best bet and mabe a little cheaper than the airport ones but whatever price it is we will have to do it
Hubby not happy driving so booking a car for the day not an option.
I really struggled on the coach last Sept and almost 2 hours to sit after the plane didn't help my pain
I guess we could be in Arillas well within the hour.
Eileen thank you for the link for taxi. I have had a reply from Dimitris, says the price is normally 110 euro return but he will do it for 100. I have emailed back to confirm
Do you normally have to pay a deposit he didn't say.
We have booked for Sept also so we will be able to arrange that when we see him in May hopefully
Hi Springs55,
Glad to hear you are sorted.
No deposit required - just pay at your journey's end. :-)
Eileen.
Hi Springs55,
I hope you don't think me rude to ask. but is that the price that would include the return journey back to the airport?
Joan x
It does say return Joan.
So I'm not the only ditzy one on this forum ;) Haha

Hi Joan not rude at all, that is what this site is all about helping one another to get the best possible from our holiday.
Yes the price is for the return journey as well. Dimitris said the price is normally 110 euro but because I was the first one to book from the new web site he will do it for 100, very good of him
Thanks Eileen he did say no deposit required we just pay the driver each trip.
I was very surprised he got back to me so quick so all sorted now just can't wait to go!
thanks for that Val .. lol
it was very late or early when i read this posting, but thanks anyway Springs55
for the info ;)
we paid more than that 2 years ago , so you have really got a good price there.
