Title: Thomson Flights Food
Post by: TONYNEW on July 15, 2012, 09:50:44 PM
Hi Folks has anyone flown with Thomson this year ?i wondered what you could get on the flight food wise as we normally book inflight meals but alas no longer available!
I must admit i used to enjoy the meals as it also broke the journey up a tad .
We fly at 15.45 so we wont be in Arillas until 11ish so could do with a bit of grub before our 1st pint of Mythos :-)

they are surprisingly good! heated on board obviously, but tasted better than the normal stuff, hot bacon roll, in crusty baguette was my favourite, Joy said pasta was really tasty, you can even get a small bag of chips! prices were reasonable(for an airline) hope you enjoy!

coming home though there wasn't much selection for return journey though as they don't replenish so may be best to eat before journey.

We fly every year with Thomson and food has been OK and like Tony we find it breaks up the journey.  Glad to hear that what you get now is also OK but am I just being grumpy or why did they have to change a system that worked fine?  Is it just the vociferous minority that thought not having food on short flights was a good idea?  It wouldn't be so bad if you could take your own food but you now have to pay inflated prices either in the departure lounge or on the plane.  Also like Tony we arrive at Corfu airport at about 9pm and into Arillas at about 11pm so a meal is appreciated by us.  Oh well, we don't go until 17 August so hoping that my rant is unfounded.

Ann
I agree with you about changing the food system. We used to enjoy a meal on the plane. You can take your own food through with you as we have done that before. Its drinks you cant take throught to departure. My sister usually takes a little packed lunch with her to eat on the plane as well.

Anne, Thomson reckon that in a survey they carried out most people would rather not have in-flight meals !
I find that strange because from what I've seen in the past i reckon 90% of passengers were eating meals and i would say that's a conservative guess .
BRING BACK OUR GRUB THOMSONS !!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, in the days before everything was seperately charged, I used to love the meals on a plane. Def a highlight in my sad and sorry life haha!

Remember the days when not only were meals included in the price you also were given a newspaper on boarding then Fox's Glacier Fruits were given for take off. The headphones for the enterainment were also free, this years we didn't even have entertainment. What next year I wonder.
