Post by: TerryW on December 01, 2011, 05:51:49 PM
Had this sent to me today....

Ryanair announces new air routes
(UKPA) – 38 minutes ago
Four new destinations have been added to budget airline Ryanair's flights from Scotland.

The carrier will fly from Glasgow Prestwick airport to Barcelona, Bydgoszcz in Poland, Chania in Crete and Corfu from early next year. Seats on the new routes will go on sale on Friday.

Ryanair said the new routes would help bring around 1.3 million people to Prestwick and support 1,300 jobs.
Lesley Kane, head of sales and marketing, said: "Glasgow Prestwick celebrates four new routes from April 2012 which will go on sale on Friday.

"With a total of 25 low-fare routes from Glasgow Prestwick this summer, passengers can beat the recession by choosing Ryanair's guaranteed lowest fares and no fuel surcharges to exciting destinations all over Europe."
Graeme Sweenie, chief commercial officer for Glasgow Prestwick, said: "We're delighted to be part of Ryanair's growth and success in Scotland. This is great news for the airport and our summer flight season.
"It's especially exciting that for the first time we can offer low-cost scheduled services from Prestwick to Corfu and Crete, top sunshine destinations that are extremely popular with Scots.
"The announcement will also help in attracting more inbound visitors to explore Ayrshire and beyond."

I thought I would be an Anonymous Hedgehopper, for the day Erja :-). You need to be a certain age to understand that one....

BTW I also found this today

Limerick: There was an Old Man of Corfu by Edward Lear

There was an Old Man of Corfu,
Who never knew what he should do;
So he rushed up and down,
Till the sun made him brown,
That bewildered Old Man of Corfu.

And these paintings .....

Whey hey Terry.....that's great news for those of us north of the border!
Thanks for posting - you've made my day :-)

Hopefully the new flights will be well supported in order to justify Ryanair's confidence in us. :-) :-) :-)

I'll be checking out the flights tomorrow.

Terry I have the Book of Nonsense on my Kindle and often dip in to it, just to give myself a silly moment.
Suppose that says a lot about me. Ha ha.

His paintings are very good, those two could be photographs.

Good news for all in Scotland, lets hope the fares are good as well.
