Lol Al & Sal tell me about it !! but we will be first on the plane this time.

Jaz - from Bristol only 3 seats left on the return flight when I booked last night - less than £100 each return had to be done.

Ang,
That was a good price... We are from Bristol also and it is now approx £120 each for those dates, gone up already. I expect you know Thompson fly from Bristol....very good flight times as well, 2pm out and 9pm leaving Corfu, Fridays to Fridays. and you get a booked seat!
But,,,,,,,,,,,, I looked at flight only for next Whitsun and its £1500 for 4 people! Ridiculous. This Sept not bad tho.......£767.

Thomas Cook  fly Mondays out of Bristol but top load price if you do not book a package. Bxxxxy tour operators..... even want to charge me an adult price for my 13 year old lad ( which they all do I know)....but I tell them... he is not old enough to drink, or smoke, or vote, he is to young for a driving licence, and to young for... you know what, so how can he be an adult!

Richard Branson and Virgin at least make the threshold 16 years old which is a bit better,,,,,,,,,,,, not 12!

I could just imagine my George at 13 on an all inclusive propping up the bar all night with a Pina Colada, fagging it (NOT!), with his quad parked in the car park ready to take his girlfriend for a spin!
Have a nice day,

Kind Regards,
Jaz.

Hi Jaz , we are not from Bristol, across the Bridge and keep going west towards the Gower, not really bothered where we fly from with in reason (one of the benifits of a company car- no fuel charge, but a K code tax lol)

Used to do Thompson flight only from Cardiff when the price was right or BMI Birmingham or Cardiff - but BMI stopped the route from Cardiff and Thompson went too expensive.

Didnt enjoy the drive home from Bristol airport at 1.30am especially as most of the street lighting is now turned off - but small sacrifice for such cheap flights.

Are you going to book and return with the family next year? June was just right this year have been a few times in June but this year the temp was good and not too many mozzies.

Hi Ang.......hopefully will be back this year, still chatting with the powers that be ( er indaws ), as we might do something else , safari...... and maybe go to Arillas next whitsun which is later next year, w/e of June 2nd.
I would sooner do Arillas this September and next June, and then a 'Biggy' for her 50th next August, with a quick trip to the Isle of Man for the TT races mid June. We will see,
Take Care,
Paul.

Hope you get something sorted Jaz, Im trying to find something for my other halfs big 50 in sept this year, was looking at the octoberfest in munich - spot on with the time of the festival but the flight prices are just a tad OTT for a few days, but he has a v important hosp visit first so it will depend on the outcome before I book something.

I remember a few years ago there used to be Jeep Safaris around Corfu - Arillas used to be one of the stop off's - but I guess you mean African Safari , glad you have now got the Arillas bug - its a rather strange bug that has no known cure as yet!!

Another of our forum members - Tony, I think has actually done the IoM TT, Im sure I will be corrected if wrong.

Cheers
Ang

Hi Ang.......hope you manage to find something for hubby.
Have admired arillas for a few years now but never signed up for the forum etc, and yes , it is a bug with no known cure and would not go to the doctors to get it sorted as he would only send me back! Hmmmm the mind boggles.
And answer to the safari question is yes, an African safari in Kilimangaro safari park,,,,,,,,,fantasic, went while I was in the Royal Navy in 1981 and would love to go with family. Would have to go to the docs then to get all the jabs etc but will prob go next August I think.
Take Hubby for his 50th to Prague,,, great city.
Bye for now,
Regards,
Jaz.

P.S hows the tunnels,,,are they open yet?

I think when they say "only 3 seats left" they don't mean the plane is full.

I think what they do is sell off the seats at different ranges of price so they sell only a limited number at the really low price, then they go up. Another reason to book early!

Exactly Sandy - I was lucky to have seen this thread and got straight on to Easyjet to grab my bargin...

Been to Prauge Jaz, had 4 days there Oct 2005 loved it, its on the list of contenders.... I think the tunnel will take at least 6mths to repair -so misery on that stretch of the M4 for some time - just glad Im working down west these days - the alternate route would be to do heads of the valley and then down coming out at the Caldra and vice versa.

Hi Ang and Jaz
BMIBABY are flying out of East Midlands next summer.Prices look good and are bookable. July 2012 are under £80 each way and August look under £90
Don't know if this helps you or Ang make decisions...or anyone else for that matter
Annie xx

Agree with Sandy, as usual! We will book next July early on the day the schedules come out. (Only up to end of June yet released, and no good to us.) Very few seats ever sold at the lowest price. We waited one day for this July, and paid an extra 30 each.

Annie, we don't want to go to E Midlands with Bristol so near, but thanks for the idea. It is great news and must help any of us who can fly from there.

Ang and Paul - good luck with your plans. Life is simpler for us because we only ever go to Arillas!!!

Annie, Phil I'm all booked for 2012, 11th - 18th June Bristol - I looked at East Midlands prices but as Bristol is only 1 1/2 hr drive it won and even with Easyjet lol.

Phil i'm not looking anymore for a 50th birthday get away as much as I would have liked one but with Hubby not being very well and until he has a little hospital visit investigation end Aug, it seemed foolish ..... so we have settled on a "Boys Toy" for his birthday pressie.

When the flights are on the timetable ,it was only less than a week from appearing on there that you could actually book from Manchester in July for next June 2012.

Hello all
When in doubt ask a forum member. This is probably a question aimed at Phil(you have just done it) We are doing Bristol to Corfu on 26th Sept staying for 2 weeks at the Rainbow. We leave about 6pm arriving in Corfu 11.20pm. Phil do these flights run somewhere near to time, we ask because we want to arrange a taxi transfer and wonder if the taxi company can monitor flight times so they are not waiting around for a late flight. The boys at the Rainbow say someone will be there waiting to show us our room but we were rather hoping the flight would be on time, a quick baggage reclaim, a 45 minute taxi ride and sitting in the bar sometime before 1am(we know the bar will open as long as there is someone still drinking) What do you think our chances our. Its our first time doing independant to Arillas, but its always the Rainbow.
Thanks for any help
PaulandLin

Don't panic....my brother is doing that Bristol flight as we speak. He's done it each year for the last 3 years and not had a problem yet. In recent years, I have found EJ very reliable (famous last words). The airport will hopefully not be too busy at that time of night and as the Rainbow boys say, someone will be there to meet you and the taxi will only take 45 minutes at that time of night. You will be in Arillas by 1am, the bar will still be open and you can have a nice cold beer when you get there. It doesn't get much better than that....have a great time.

Sandy has answered it exactly how I would. We have done the Bristol flight many times now, and have always been sipping (in my case just swallowing) cold Mythos by 1 am. The Coconut, Rainbow, Bardis Sun have all at one time or another been our 1am first visit.

We often book our taxi via Noula (San Stef Travel) on this website. If the flight were delayed they would know and adjust accordingly.

All best wishes. Hope it works as well for you as it has for us. Have a wonderful time.
Phil

I would advise you definitely to book a taxi - if the Rainbow boys are not organising it for you, like Phil says, book through Noula on this website.
