Title: PRICES 2011
Post by: raff on June 10, 2011, 12:32:04 PM
Morning all.  I know Terry has mentioned it, but has anyone got an idea of the cost of meals in our favourite Taverna's please? I do hope this hasn't already been answered. Cheers, not long NOW!!!!

Hi Raff - four of us ate together regularly in various tavernas.  More often than not we had a starter (or shared starters), a main course, and quite a lot of wine.... The dearest bill for the four of us was around 75 euros, the cheapest bill for six of us was 74 euros...!!! The cheapest was at Thomas' fish restaurant (Vavilas).
I'd say on average prices have NOT increased....

If you've read my Arillas Effect post, you'll know we can't speak for many places in Arillas!  At Gratsela, a couple of large draught beers and a snack each was around 18 euros.  In Brouklis, two starters, two mains, one Greek Salad, 1 jug of house red came in at around 35 euros.

So Arillas seems to have ducked the trend of price inflation, karen22. With the quality of food in Brouklis, 35 seems very cheap to me. I will post an update on prices after my 3 weeks in July.

Like Janis we found the prices were very much the same as last year, it seems the taverna owners have absorbed the very high inflation that Greece and most of Europe is suffering.

We did notice the prices in the supermarkets had risen though, just like here.
